For those of you who aren't aware - it was mentioned one of the round threads - the 2016 ORFFF Brownlow* has been won and done - with Drouin's (@stowie) Patrick Danger a clear victor. Following on form this the leading Ruck, Forward and Defender were Max Gawn (#2 overall), Zac Merrett (#3 overall) and Heath Shaw (equal 12th overall).

The top 10 positions are shown at http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14
but for several coaches they haven't been abel to see where there best players ranked, well thanks to @walesy working his magic, we can see all the players who polled - via

    http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&brownlowLimit=all

we have a history of who polled what and when, summarised for the top players as follows

    top 32.png

Next, we have an indicative All ORFFF team based on highest Brownlow votes in each position
    all orfff.png
Please note the team mostly nabs the top averaging players, but tends to favour players in teams lower on the ladder for the D4, M4 and IC, F4 and emergency positions, please comment below if you prefer a different method to working out a team of the year, and want to post an alternate team.

And last there is a Brownlow vote and All ORFFF (based on the Brownlow) summary by team
    team table.png

All of the data for the above is recorded in the following Excel file

    * - in the absence of a ruling form the Commish and/or ORFFF Board we are still calling it the Brownlow but for me it will be known as the Patrick Dangerfield Medal.

    Cheers TTH

In addition to the all ORFFF side I thought it would be worth putting together a youth team similar to the AFL's 22 under 22
with the criteria being 1995 through 1997 birthdate players (1st-3rd year players) with at least 12 AFL games played in 2016 and highest SC average for the whole season used for determining the nominees

After much delay, here is the 2016 ORFFF 15 under 22 team (no emergencies)

Tom Cutler (Black Swamp) Jake Lever (Jan Juc) Orazio Fantasia (Mt Thirsty*) Kade Kolodjashnij (Walpole)
Marcus Bontempelli (Black Swamp) Patrick Cripps (Mole Creek) Matt Crouch (Heard Island) Josh Kelly (Neptune Island)
Zac Merrett (Walpole) Isaac Heeney (Mole Creek) Touk Miller (Mole Creek) Caleb Daniel (Walpole)
    ** Brodie Grundy (Jan Juc)
Callum Mills (Cockburn) Jesse Hogan (Wedge Island)
    * - drafted by Port Lincoln, traded Midseason 2016
** - as rucks develop later, they should have an extra two years of eligibility so Grundy makes the team

The club by club breakdown is as follows:-
    3 = Walpole, Mole Creek
2 = Black Swamp, Jan Juc
1 = Mt Thirsty, Heard Island, Neptune Island, Cockburn, Wedge island
0 = Drouin, Chinchilla, Useless Loop, Rutherglen, Port Lincoln, Maralinga, Dingo Beach

Based on average SC scores the team would have scored 1282 points per game or 19230 points over the 15 games, which would have had them around 8th highest for points scored in the 2016 ORFFF season. Mills is the only 1995 birthdate player named, while Lever, Heeney, Miller and Daniel are all 1996 birthdates and will all therefore be eligible for selection again in 2017.

While the ORFFF only commenced in 2016 by reconstructing the 2015 and 2014 teams a number of the 3rd year players would have backed up from 2015 - Merrettt, Bont, Cripps, Hogan, Kade Kolo, Hogan and Grundy (in his fourth year due to the ruck exemption). Of these players only K Kolo had made the 2014 team and therefore would have been a 3 time ORFFF 15 under 22 player had the comp kicked off in 2014, while Grundy was beaten out by Max Gawn in 2014 but also has the ability to be an unofficial 3 time player of the year (out of 5 years) in 2017.

Merrett, Bont and Cripps played in the 2016 ORFFF Rep Footy Match (Grundy was an emergency). Merrett was the only player to make both the all ORFFF team and the ORFFF 15 under 22 side, while the Bont narrowly missed joining him as he was IC emergency for the all ORFFF side.

No doubt many of these players have bright futures and many future ORFFF All Stars match or all ORFFF selection and club Best and Fairest honours ahead in 2017 and beyond. Even more important is they (and other youngsters) will becomes long term stars of the ORFFF and shape the fortunes for their respective ORFFF clubs for many seasons to come.

Nice work TTH, love reading some of the stuff you come up with.

No surprise with Mole Creek and Walpole taking up most of the slots, and have a feeling they may get a few more representatives this year with Oliver and Petracca shining early.

I also expect they will equal or better last year's 6 combined reps in 2017, I have their current contingent on about 8 out of the 15, with 1 more missing by a literal bee's whisker. Lots of players likely to come in and out though.

It will be interesting whether any other clubs manage to get 2 or more, Jan Juc would be a chance if Grundy can hold off Nank in their current 2 man Ruck battle.

As mentioned elsewhere the Dropbears Patrick Dangerfield has gone back to back in the ORFFF BEst and Fairest aka the Dangerfield Medal.

Taking out the leading Defender, Ruck and Forward honours were Sam Docherty (#12 overall), Matt Kreuzer (#16 overall) and Luke Dahlhaus (#24 overall).

As mentioned last year the top 10 positions are shown at http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14
but thanks to @walesy working his magic, we can see ALL the players who polled - via

we have a history of who polled what and when, summarised for the top players as follows

Once again we have determined an All ORFFF team based on highest Dangerfield Medal votes in each position, as per the next post.

Good job mate. Happy to see Heard Island have a representative this year! Big improvement overall for the team in polling.

I think Mole Creek the only team yet to have someone make the rep side :( although they could lay claim to half a GAJ from 2016...
Rutherglen went from 2 to 0 and Wedge Island did the opposite.
Mount Thirsty went from 0 to 3!
Drouin the most dominant across both seasons.

Gazza last year probably should have counted at least as a 0.5, Cripps this year would have made it had he played another 2 or 3 games so they are not far away.

What surprised me was how few players made it back to back which seems to be a function of the size of the team, number of elite mids copping injuries or ageing pretty fast and the slight skewing of votes towards lower ranked teams.
