Great start by the Sandgropers but Hughenden have finally unlocked the players race and will hopefully put up some competition for the remainder of the game.

When the hell did Sicily get named for the Hawks?
3 goals to half time and not even in my team... bugger!

I'm really sick of late changes. Too many coaches play funny buggers, naming players that don't have a chance of playing, then swapping at the last minute. I can understand why, but it sh!ts me that they keep doing it.
(Old man rant... will add it to the thread).

At 5/8th time the home town Sandgropers 711/8/89 have established a healthy lead over @Batfink's P-Dogs 591/8/74. There's a long way to go in this one but the signs are good for Southern Cross to break their duck against Hughenden.

16/29.5th time at Flying Fish Cove Park and the Armadillos have held onto their early lead to be in front 741/8 (92.6) to 716/8 (89.5).

The Smugglers' stars in Dusty (144) and Beams (132) have done the heavy lifting for the home side. While Treloar has come back into form with a 125, ably supported in the midfield by Rich (118) for the Armadillos.

The coaches have been mirroring each other's tactics throughout the first half leaving both with 3 defs, 2 mids and a ruck and a fwd to play.

Gisborne Grenades 805/10/80.5 (only 4 left to play) are leading @HOLKY's Eden Whalers 696/8/87. From here, it appears to be Eden's game to lose...

Yep, Buffaloes have gone down : (

Horrible round that will hopefully never be repeated. Enough evidence from across the league that we got this one wrong.

Goldstein (135) took out the big tap in a complete domination of a disappointing Billy Longer (45) and Michael Walters (135) was able to capitalise on the silver service Goldstein gave to his midfielders.

Dangerfield (151) did his best to inspire the troops but they were closer to a sit down protest than seriously winning this match.

    Final scores
    Korrumburra 1156 def Serengeti 1090

    BAFFU votes
    3 Dangerfield 151(SB)
    2 Walters 135 (KB)
    1 Goldstein 135 (KB)

Round 10 sees the Buff travel to Coolgardie as they try to rebound and put this round behind them while Korrumburra continue on the road against the Barracudas

    Bunyips 1141 Def Bulls 1028

The Bunyips have bounced back from our losing streak to finally find some form at home. A fantastic effort from Captain reliable, Pendles (142), was enough to get the Bunyips over the line. Another donut, this time on the Interchange bench gave @tyze1 a sniff of a victory, but the boys dug deep to prevail.

Unfortunately for big Sauce Jacobs, he was monstered by Big Boy McEvoy with the Big Tap points going to the unlikely hero. McEvoy has been travelling very well this season, averaging a very consistent 100!

Some under performing Hills in the midfield really hurt the visitors both scoring well under their season averages. Had the Bulls just pulled their averages this week, they would have dominated the homeside, but it wasn't to be. Mackie, Wellingham and cop this elbow to your head, Saleem all disappointed coach Tyze.

Dickston made a welcome return to the depleted forward line for the Bunyips, chipping in a very handy 74 which would have otherwise been a donut.

The Bulls and Bunyips are tied on 5 wins and 4 losses with only percentages keeping both sides out of the top 8. Next week the Bunyips hit the road to battle the Prairie Dogs whilst the Bulls take on top of the ladder Vikings. Here is hoping for @tyze that the MRP doesn't view the Saleem footage from the weekend.

Thanks for the score updates over the weekend mate, appreciate it!

Disgusting effort from the Bulls. The mid season break can't come quick enough.
On a brighter note the form of Big Boy is pleasing and the evenness of the comp is evident to all just 8 points separates 1st and 14th!

    Match Report, Round 9
Coolgardie Prospectors v Banchang Barcrawlers @choppers

In the decimation game at Coolgardie, only half of the home team welcomed only a third of the Thaiboys to the goldfields (not in that way you dirty pricks!!!:p) for a scratch match that was amazingly still counted towards overall results. It saw a disaster of a game, with less than 1800 total points scored, that ended up seeing the home side as victors.

    Coolgardie: 1029 / 13 / 79.15
    Banchang: 726 / 9 / 80.67

The boys from Banchang fought as hard as they could, but there was just not enough of them out there. Meanwhile a few boys named for the Prospectors decided that they wouldn't actually turn up, while one bloke sneakily played behind the coaches' back.

    Defence:
In what was a very defensive-minded game, the backlines for both teams generally stood up.
The home side was lead by Hooker (an even 100) and ably supported by Macmillan (87), while Smith (73) was ok, and Barrass (52) went missing (but then so did his 21 Eagles team-mates!!!!:mad::mad::mad:), for a total of 312 points.
The visitors top score came down back from Tuohy (116), with youngster Newman (93) and M Adams (78) doing their jobs, while Suckling (63) brought up the rear, for a total of 350 points, and the only line win for the visiting Barcrawlers.

    Midfield:
The Coolgardie coach has already made his thoughts about late outs well known, so to see Ramsay pull out after being named to play was really disappointing. The Mids were lead by captain Kennedy (102) with the only other scorer being Clarke (55), for an absolutely deplorable 157 points.
The only thing that gave the home side a win on this line was the fact that only one Banchang mid turned up to play, with T Adams (110) waving the Barcrawlers flag, and who can surely hold his head up high with that performance to try to keep his side in the contest.

    Rucks:
Big Mummy turned up to play, and Champion Data agreed (F@#$ing Finally!!) to give him a solid 135 points, and BOG performance. Faced against Sinclair (66), Mumford ran away with this one, providing first use of the ball to a midfield who wasn't there to receive it.

    Forwards:
A complete forward line was the only positive for the home side, as everyone had down-right dirty days on the paddock... Only Fantasia (78) can say he was above average, with Wright (56) and Watts (also 56) focusing more on planning post-game drinks, while Redpath (38) was last seen chasing an adorable little kitten around the carpark. A deplorable 228 points, but still good enough to win the line.
On the flip side, Higgins (82) bagged a couple of goals for the visitors, although his focus was more on the sideshow, while Langdon (58) was seen in close discussions with the "W"-brothers comparing drinking stories. A total of 140 miserable points, and something the coach will be hoping he never sees again.

    Interchange:
Bigman Stefan (107) was seen with his hand up all over the place, taking all the taps that Mummy missed, while Baguley (90) took his chance to run through a vacant midfield and collect some loose ball in (by far) his best performance of the year. A total of 197 points was nearly enough to beat the four forwards, and more than enough to beat the two mids.
The visitors had Ibbotson (60) sitting alone on the bench, and he was seen practicing his kick-in-to-yourself skills, racking up the half-meter high kicks, and running out from the square dodging the witches hats that were mimicking the missing 8 players from this game.

    Next Up:
Next week the Prospectors can hopefully all turn up to welcome the Serengeti Buffalos to the Goldfields, after their long and exhaustive trip from central Africa. Meanwhile the Banchang boys will be joined by the latecomers, as they continue their Bar Crawl across Australia, this time turning up in whaling country to take on Eden. Good luck to all teams.

    Big Tap:
Shane Mumford, Coolgardie, 135, defeated Callum Sinclair, Banchang, 66, by 69 points.

    The Votes:
    3 - Shane Mumford, Coolgardie, 135 points.
    2 - Zach Tuohy, Banchang, 116 points.
    1 - Taylor Adams, Banchang, 110 points.

Match Report Round 9 Vikings vs Crocs @fresh

In a game where Vikings needed to bounce back from two consecutive loses this game posed a threat against a Croc's outfit full of talent. Vikings welcomed back Rampe from a broken arm and Greene from suspension but Boyd was omitted either being rested or poor form.

    Defense:
Roberton 119 continued his outstanding form leading the Vikings defense for the year, Montagna 85 was solid, great signs from Howe 76 making a claim to stay in starting 15 while Rampe 55 looked ok but will be better for the run leading into the byes.
For the visitors Jones 49 was star struck in front of his former team mates and could not replicate his great season, 1st year player McGrath 59 could be tiring while McDonald 42 had a job to do could not intercept in coming balls and Hampton 51 is looking towards the byes.

    Midfield:
Mitchell 158 leading Vikings best and fairest and now the no.1 pig in Nuytsland 50 possessions only 7th player in history to do so, Ross 112 has been outstanding, Viney 95 has not improved on last year but has been solid while shuey 78 stunk!
For the visitors Blakley 130 broke his tagging duties showing his talent to find the pill, Arces 96 superb season continued but unfortunaltey Cow Bay does not have depth to go toe to toe with best midfield, Taranto 81 will be player and De Goey 54 needs more time.

    Ruck:
Preseason hype for Grundy 92 has not taking his game to a new level again losing the big tap to Boyd 109 who played his best game of year since last years finals series.

    Forwards:
Clearly the worst performance collectively with no scores over the 70's Greene 70 was to scared to find that line between aggression and pressure so played it soft, Petracca 70 Heeney 69 and Motlop 63 all need to lift as this is where the visitors won Cameron 105 back to all australian form Gunston 81 Patton 53 and McCarthy 61 shows key position players can out do the smalls.

    Interchange:
No stand outs for either teams as Crouch 88 lead the way Kent 47 is up and down while again he visitors showed consistency Keays 76 and Dunn 71.

Crocs 1118 won 3 out 5 lines but in the end Vikings 1277 came home with a wet sail to snatch Victory.

    Mitchell 158
    Blakley 130
    Roberton 119
