one game out of the way with no dramas at selection haha. I am really hoping this starts a trend this week because it will be difficult for me to handle any surprises this round.

Im curious to hear how many playing premiums everyone will have each of the bye rounds.
Presuming there are no injuries, and that Sandi and Rocky come back in, its looking like I will have 15 premiums onfield each of the 3 weeks (maybe 14 in r13, but I hope to make one more upgrade by then).
The other 3 scoring spots will be filled by rookies each week.

      How is everyone else looking?

Anyone have thoughts on Scott Selwood? Too awkwardly priced or good for a couple of hundred k cash grab?
Also brad Ebert - good for a keeper mid or against the policy of being a top 8 mid by the end of the year?

Fortunately only 1 Sunday game this week (Freo vs Coll) which means we find out most of the 50/50 calls prior to the Port Adelaide vs Hawks match.

Definitely considering S Selwood. Im thinking either Fisher to S Selwood or Steele to J Selwood. Both good options imo.
Scott Selwood is hard to ignore!

It was either Scott Selwood or Bolton for me, and I went for Selwood...

If Sandi doesn't get named and I'm facing a donut, i'll take the punt on S Selwood.
If 18 of my players get named, then I'll probably hold back on S Selwood.

      I don't see him as a keeper - I doubt he will maintain his average. So he'll likely be a trade-in, trade-out prospect. That's 2 trades.
Are 2 trades worth a potential $130k cash gain and perhaps 15 extra points for 5 weeks? Maybe

Without having traded yet this week I will have 12 premiums playing each week. Having said that my definition of premium has changed this year to anybody above 450k. :(
Fortunately all of my other players are above 300K which is where I am getting most of points this year. (is there an emoticon for ironic??)
Any way I will have 18 players above 300 k in each bye round with only making one trade.

I am planning to go 2 down 1 up this week - Greenwood, Bolton and Scott Selwood are the standout options for mine, hopefully all get named.

From my teams POV unless he ends up averaging 100 plus Scott Selwood ends up either staying as M8 and I end up losing points to teams that have Duckwood/Sloane types instead or costing a 2nd trade (I don't have many to burn) to trade him out.

Bolton's dpp also seems to help a lot in setting my team up in Rounds 12 and 13, and hopefully beyond.

what do you classify as not many trades to burn @TheTassieHawk ?
Curious as to what everyone is working with. I have 14 left and it doesn't feel like a lot?

I've got 15 trades, but if I burn through them over the byes, will be in the home stretch with 6 in the pocket.

Hopefully the team will be complete though :D

Similar here - 16 left and 7 left after the byes if I burn all 9 then I would need to burn 4 more to upgrade Newman to Adams/Roberton and M8 to Sloane/Selwood post byes leaving me with 3 as at Round 15.

I will most likely slow down my trading which means squeezing a few extra $$$ out of my rookies however that most likely only saves a trade or 2 at most, but also hopefully means that I can use my last few trades in Rounds 19-21 rather than before.

I've got 17 but haven't traded this round yet so will use either 2 or 3 this round

For me, I'll probably keep the powder dry over the byes. I'm out of the hunt for the overall, but in my cash league ($1000 granny winner prize), I'm sitting 2 wins clear of 8th- and would very much appreciate having 8 trades leading into the finals :D

Newman, Otten and SPP are the 3 upgrades I've got remaining, but only have WHE as cash gen. So might be able to get away with 5 trades for it if someone else wants to put their hand up and make me some cash :D Happy to hold Newman/Otten until the time is right though.

I wish I new how you managed to achieve that. Cash is killing me.
      Before any trades I have:
R11 - 13 premos (19 total expected to this week)
      R12 - 14 premos (23 total expected to play)
      R13 - 10 premises (15 total expected to play)

Clearly I have some work to do to fix the R13 situation!!!

It might be worth looking at it from total points scoring potential for the remainder of the season rather than end of season rankings.

      Consider this comparison:
      J. Selwood (who I believe to be top 8 EoS) $547,400 - 112 PPG x 12 games remaining = 1344 total points
      B. Ebert (non Top 8) $528,900 - 108 PPG x 13 games remaining = 1404 total points

Selwood will need to ave 117 for the rest of the season to break even with Ebert's 108.

And for those considering Ebert, don't discount having a good look at Ollie Wines also

$453k for Robbie Gray. :D His scoring is a little batshit this year, but take out the 30's and he's averaging a tick under 108 also.

I wanted to bring in Gray last week but Sandi out forced me to go with Ryder instead
