Ummm, after hearing of the recent decision from the MRP we might just stay in Drouin this week and protest!
We take our hosting duties very seriously. New signs have been put in place around the entrances to town.
3rd position on the ORFF ladder was sealed by 2016 Minor Premier Drouin (@stowie)as they defeated a gallant Walpole (@port_leschenault) side by 38 points in a see-sawing contest that will be revisited in the finals as Walpole plots a way to crack a win against the Dropbears at the third time of asking. 4th position went to Jan Juc (@thokash) who notched a regulation 189 point win against the 14th placed Power (@MrsBear) and qualified them for a first up final against table toppers Mt Thirsty (@leematty1) who managed their 9th consecutive win this time the victory was over Macquarie Island (@Darran) as the Whales managed a diabolical 1049 a week out from the finals, and the loss saw them slide from 5th to 7th on the table. Hosting the Whales next week will be 6th placed Rutherglen (@tyze1) who rebounded strongly from 4 losses in a row to defeat the Shags (@anthak) in the Southern ocean matchup with the weeks highest score of 1421, which ended the Heard Island side’s season in 10th position. 2016 premier Neptune Island (@That KI Guy) finished 5th following a comfortable victory over wooden spooners Mole Creek (@ViQBoZ)and the Noahs will continue their title defence with a sudden death match against WA’s 3rd finals side Useless Loop (@YAD69), who defeated the Avengers (@Len) by 52 points. Maralinga (@Brett Sanders) finished 9th despite a season ending victory against the 15th placed Bucks (@Dale Duivesteyn) who slumped to their 10th consecutive loss, which is equal 2nd with the Woylies stretch in 2016 and only one game behind the all time record set by Mole Creek in 2016-17. Wedge Island (@Bearfly) inflicted further pain on the 29ers by holding on for a 4 point win – proving last weeks 1500 tally by the New South Welshmen was indeed a fluke of epic proportions – which enabled the vistors to hold on to 12th position at the expense of the home side who remained in 13th. Regular season bragging rights clearly sit with the WA and VIC sides, all 6 of whom made the finals while the South Aussies managed only 1 representative despite boasting the same number of sides. Relative to 2016 the biggest rise was Walpole 9.5 extra wins and the biggest fall was Mole Creek who fell a whopping 7 short of their 8 win 2016 season. Ladder wise Walpole rose 14 spots while the 29ers fell 10 possies. I wish the best of luck to the 8 sides in this season’s finals as they look to add their name to the ORFFF honour role and I hope that the 8 sides outside the 8 are able to gain a significantly better result next year, once they finish their Mad Monday celebrations in a month or two's time.
