Yes ladies and gents, it is here again. For those of us who hold up the rest of ORFFA, we know this is the real deal. And for those who have this season departed our ranks for that elite stuff, try changing your deodorant. We have: A. MOUNT BEAUTY UGLIES vs CHARLIE'S OPENING SPELUNKERS B. WHITSUNDAY WARRIORS vs DARRAWEIT GUIM DIRIGIBLES C. WINEGLASS BAY PACKERS vs LOVELY BANKS LILACS (or GWS vs CATS) D.BIRDSVILLE BATTLERS vs WAGGA WAGGA WOMBATS E. NUDAWADING NUFFERS vs LARIKIN LAGOON LEFTIES TWO LOWEST SCORES + LOSERS ARE ELIMINATED WINNER A vs WINNER D WINNER B vs WINNER C WINNER of A vs D versus WINNER of B vs C Now, I expect someone will have something to say about this, but I am all ears. Edit Just in case you were wondering if it should be that one of the winners does so with one of the two lowest scores and The Mighty Lagoon (for example) wins their bout with a higher score, then the Lefties are in the next round. Won't happen, but I know there is a huge crowd of what ifs out there.
best of luck to all those who have a chance to add the Zac Cup to your teams honours board. Some great match ups TiB, well done. Have my eyes on the feminine wiles match up and lefties v. nuffers should be rivetting. BTW, while it is too late to sand bag, it is not too late to sledge.
The way your team has been running lately we could probably find you a spot up against the mighty Lefties.
A deep and meaningful discussion has been held by all the ORFFA commisioners, we have come to the unanimous decision that any participating team not entering a properly selected Squad for this forfeits their 1st round draft picks, to me Theft and corruption, alive and well
Gotta be first at something. We played the Blimps last week at home and they flogged us. Cameron is still crook and those bloody Giants would not pick Simpson, sticking Lobb in the ruck instead. How much does it hurt picking an OPP ruck who is playing ruck. Duh. So, Dirigibles can't wiggle out of being favourites here. DEF: Suckling, Tarrant, Harmes, Andrews (Mcintosh) MID: Wines, Boak, Smith, Gray (Ainsworth) RUC: Simpson (Lobb OPP) FWD: Lambert, Patton, Kennedy, Motlop (Butler) I/C: Gibson, Douglas Motlop returns after a spell. I hope Port don't chase him. Slow and lazy and beyond his used by date.
Lobb is a totally awful ruck mate, will probably have R/F status next year, should trade him to me cheap really
Agreed. He was totally awful last year too when he was R/F - that's why I picked him. Watched Essendon/Saints last night. I would rather have Zac Dawson in ruck than Hickey. Idiot with a hair cut to match - feel for the coach who has him.
Winglass Bay Packers team to take on Lovely Banks Lilacs at home. We have the white wine and bubbles on chill and the good red standing by for the coaches. DEFENDER Lachie Henderson, Nathan Wilson, Jimmy Webster, Marley Williams MIDFIELDER Rory Sloane, Tom SCULLY, Andrew McGrath, David Mundy - (Alex Neal-Bullen RUCK Braydon Preuss FORWARD Sam Reid, Cameron McCarthy, George Hewett, Alexander FASOLO - (Jack Silvagni) INTERCHANGE Eric Hipwood, Conor McKenna - (Billy Stretch)
When you picked up Preuss in the draft and I was left ruckless, I said at the time, "Looks like I will have to trade Lobb to Tracey after all. But you didn't bite The 'experts' reckon Sloane will go huge this week. McCarthy finally finding some form. Hope Mundy outscores ANB.
Not sure how many will turn up this week. Four at least. Def - Duryea, Wagner, Berry, McKenzie Mid - Langford, Scooter, Clarke, Ross Ruck - Broomy (oop) Fwd - Phillips, Weller, Knight, Simpkin I/C - Taberner, Hayward C'mon Nuffers that trophy looks enticing.
Spelunkers team to take on the Fuglies Def: Shane Savage, Cale Hooker, Oscar McDonald, Luke Brown, (Griffin Logue) Mid: Marcus Bontempelli, Stephen Hill, Sam Petrevski-Seton, Liam Duggan, (Darcy Tucker) Ruck: Ben McEvoy Fwd: Jack Gunston, Jake Carlisle, Mitch McGovern, Mark LeCras, (Jarrod Pickett) Bench: Sean Darcy, Jackson Thurlow, (Riley Bonner)
Thanks for thinking of me TiB I'm lucky Bellchambers had an ok year. DMA had offered to trade me Longer extremely cheaply during the offseason and I wish I'd grabbed him to have both Sainters. DMA ended up getting a fairly decent return for him later on when he won back the R1 mantle. Anyway, with Bellchambers out this week, I'm hopeful Hickey gets a late call up like Simpson was for you.
