Josh Gibson's Pearcedale career has come to an end, after the defender announced his retirement at the end of the 2017 AFL Season. We didn't get to see the best of him, but he will retain legend status at the club. Also saying farewell to the Panthers as a result of a club decision are the Carlton duo of Dale Thomas and Matt Lobbe. Both are seen as surplus to requirements at their AFL Club, providing little value to the Panthers.
Banchang wishes to advise that Daniel Currie and Tom Lamb have not been offered new contracts and will head back to Australia on the next available flight. We thank them for their services and wish them well for their future.
Coolgardie will be bidding farewell to Jonathon Griffin and Jackson Ramsay. Its been a bit of a rollercoaster with each, but its time to see them on their way, and welcome fresh faces to the side for the 2018 season. So, when do we start drafting?
As an eagles supporter it's extremely disappointing that the much hyped Lamb never lived up to expectation, 193cm wingman are rare so 3 years of wasted development and at a time when we are in a mini rebuild needing experienced youth.
After a brief offseason the Bulls have started the annual cull In addition to the retirements of Mackie & Swallow the following players have been delisted today S Wellingham who played 11 games at 67ppg for the Bulls T Bugg who failed to crack a game for the Bulls The squad now sits at 26 players with discussions ongoing as we continue to work down to 24 players prior to the PSD
Although reluctant to let go of any premiership squad players the Buffaloes have decided to say goodbye to Jack Trengove & Clay Smith. Both players may have struggled to crack the senior lineup regularly in 2017 but reports suggest they were very handy towel wavers and encouragers from the sidelines and will be sorely missed. The trade of Harbrow and retirement of Mumford means the squad now sits at 25 with Ben Brown having made the trip over the Indian ocean to join the Buffaloes.
While Jesse Lonergan was away the locks to his Cow Bay room were changed and belongings left on the front porch. He was last seen hitchhiking along the freeway trying to get a lift back to the Gold Coast in the hope of extending his football career with another club.
Rupert had a slight reprieve but with the garbo’s due again soon he’s been put back on the verge and joined by Willem Drew. That makes three of four delistings leaving the squad at 25. Who will go next? Stay tuned for more details.
In light of the recruitment of Mathew Lobbe, Marc Pittonet has been delisted from the Bulls squad - leaving the squad at 25
The club would like to thank Matt Priddis and Scotty Thompson for their services. Also leaving us after finding themselves off an AFL list are Jake Spencer (bit stiff), Ben Lennon (spud), and Troy Menzel (would rather play 2's so he can be close to his mummy). This leaves the Monarchs with 5 picks in the draft so if any coaches are struggling to make the cull hit us up for a 2 for 1 deal. Quality players looking for a fresh start on every line except mids.
After being taken at Pick 27 in last years PSD, Banchang have decided Riley Knight is the unlucky player to pack his bags, in order to meet the ORFFU's directive of having a maximum of 24 players prior to this years PSD. EDIT: The grovelling process has been started for Knight to return to his team...
