The topic has been discussed as to how far into the future we should be allowed to trade draft picks. We originally started by just being able to trade for the upcoming draft, only one draft into the future. This is irrespective of it being a PSD or MSD. We then increased this to being the next two upcoming drafts. Picks from one PSD and one MSD into the future can be traded. The proposal is to increase this to the next three upcoming drafts. In this way, if we started at the mid-season trade period in 2018 then: Picks from the 2018 MSD, 2019 PSD, and 2019 MSD could be traded during the trade period.Or, if we started in the next Preseason, then: Picks from the 2019 PSD, 2019 MSD, and 2020 PSD could be traded during the trade period. Please discuss, and have a vote, and if there's a change to be made then we'll decide when it will come in (but it WILL NOT be for this 2018 preseason period). If this isn't clear, please ask questions, and I (or maybe someone else) will help to clear things up. I have allowed votes to be changed, so that if the discussion sways your vote, you're free to change it.
Where’s the poll option for long-ball? I.e. I’ll trade you my first pick in 2025 Good stuff commish*2. Listening to the people. To be applauded
whilst i do agree with future trading , this is certainly not the silver lining to fix our trading woes
Geez mate, I'm a complete basket case when I look at your achievements. You certainly seem to be doing something right. Your team was only 300+ short of scoring more points than anyone else this season in ORFFU, a mere 6200+ more than my team, including finals, and you won the intercomp series amongst all ORFF teams, if I'm not mistaken. And yet you seem to suggest you have trading woes, due to the rules currently in place. I think you're doing a great job with your squad, but maybe these rules are designed to even the comp up a bit, which may have escaped your attention. Maybe we need to sit on the sideline for a season or two to see if they work, and if they don't, then look for the silver lining. In the meantime I know I can do with all the help I can get, because no one, me included, likes being at the bottom of the table.
noted........can i just say my team is currently leading the trades for the competition with only two original players left on my team. I was merely pointing out the difference in completed trades this year compared to last and not my personal woes as I have two completed trades and a successful auction about to go off. Currently only one of the bottom four teams have completed trades and there would be many variables as to why , but if no one else feels this is an issue ill stop bringing it up.
Mate, there's no need to stop bringing issues up as you see them. Differences of opinion make for a healthy comp I reckon. And trading is just part of trying to make our teams better. Compulsory de-listing was brought in to try and make the comp. more even. Time will tell, if it's successful.
If we get enough votes to approve the change, then we might very-well introduce it prior to the 2018 MSD.
Rules updated to reflect the change - after the 2018 PSD we can start trading for three drafts ahead (beginning with 2018 MSD, 2019 PSD, and 2019 MSD). Good luck everyone
