From the front page: "8th September - Official Presentation of trophy and flag to 2018 Premier." At great expense we assembled all the players for this presentation. Waited round - nothing. Reread the notice and realised it was for next year's winners! BTW, who won?
2018 approaches ladies and gentlemen, it's important that you be ready to cope with the awesome that exists within the Misfits, or be left in our wake... #gotbigboypantson
Mmm, would you be so kind as to divulge where we can all get some of that heavily spiked figjam you’ve been swilling?
The board of the Cows have today released the following to the press: "Notwithstanding the extravagant claim by the management of the Misfits, the Board of the Cows have unanimously agreed to enter a team in the 2018 ORFFA competition. We are not scared off by such bluster." The group then retired to the private bar of the Bulls Hit Tavern for a long lunch of corned beef sarnies and a quite delightful, local 2015 Pinot Noir.
It is clearly too late for this year, but can I submit an early request for next year that our PSD doesn't start so early. I won't go into huge amounts of details here, suffice to say I reckon such an early start (considering our drafts run so smoothly and wind up well before expected timelines, etc) is completely unnecessary. It is still true that pre-season formlines and the like retain an important role in pre-season drafting.
Thanks Len - I wasn't sure/am not sure who'd be responsible, but I wanted to raise it. Not all of us have the ability to purchase the Prospectus, and not all of us have the ability/time to comb through early pre-season training reports. For some or perhaps more than some of us, the lead-up to the pre-season and pre-season itself is one of the only ways we have of studying the form. This isn't by design, this is life. I've felt so far behind the eight-ball this year that I made the conscious decision to trade in players (known quantities) during trade period rather than going all out on the draft (unknown quantities), despite trading into good picks in the draft. Got nothing against anyone wishing to go through the Prospectus, pre-season training reports, etc. The ability to take in and work through that sort of detail is really good. But there are some who rely rather more on pre-season games and the like as a basis for information. Depriving people of this opportunity by holding the draft so early (when we aren't pressed for time) is, I feel, not right. If people want to, or are able to, go the extra mile, then that's great. But everyone should have a base level of opportunity to gather knowledge - and that is usually through the pre-season matches and practice matches.
Let me know who your targets are and I'll send you the prospectus write ups... I would never use that information to poach your picks of course
