With another Thursday game, I want to make sure we have it clear on the loophole. You can't willingly use the loophole to gain an advantage. This week its Adelaide and Richmond on the Thursday - so any coach selecting Crows or Tigers as their emergencies may do so, however... You CAN'T then name a non-playing player (ie someone not named to play by their AFL club) onfield in order to score the emergency score, if you have named players (those selected by their AFL clubs to play this weekend) not in your 19-man team (15+4). Even if you have to play someone OOP, this must be done before selecting a non-named player. Is everyone clear on this?
That doesn't make sense when naming an oop emergency just to put in another oop player if you don't have any more playing on that line for full points @JPK
Current Coolgardie team back at home for round 2, hosting the Groote Eylandt Barracudas @YAD69 Def: J Macmillan, D Astbury, R Clarke, L Duggan - M Baguley Mid: B Ebert, O Wines, T Miller, J O'Meara Ruc: S Martin Fwd: J Watts, M Wright, J Sicily, B Parfitt - C Brown Int: J Aish, H Clark - M Daw Only Astbury to be locked in tonight, the rest are subject to change.
Full points or half points is irrelevant. If you think the emergency will score the most points, then you'll name him onfield. If you think the other bloke will score more, then he'll be named onfield and the emergency will stand. Hedging your bets by naming an emergency in a Thursday game, to then have another crack at (potentially) a better score from a later game is not allowed - regardless of OPP or not.
With the previous post in mind, I wish to advise that I will be leaving for The Philippines next Wednesday night and not returning til the following Tuesday, and will have no access to the internet. As such I will have to name my team prior to leaving, and well before the AFL clubs name their teams. I will do my best to name the team I think will take the field, but have given @JPK permission to change the 15 if someone isn't named....
Round 2 in. young out bryne Roberton Rampe Harbrow Williams ( Melican ) Mitchell Ross Sheuy Crouch Grundy ( English ) Greene Heeney Petracca Mclean ( Bruce ) Young Howe ( Byrne )
I still don't get it! @JPK If I name Rhys Stanley (Jack Graham oop), Graham plays, then Stanley is not named, Nicoles is not name, what you're saying is that I now need to name another player as an oop say Berry when I already have what ever points Graham has got just because I already know his score, makes no sense at all!!!
Bunyips Team for round 2: subject to change DEF: Laird, Marchbank, Houston, Saad (J Kelly) MID: Armitage, Tyson, Polec, Mountford RUC: Jacobs FWD: Lambert, Cameron, Langford, Silvagni (Fogarty) INT: Stewart, Townsend
Rule 1J: You can’t field a player that is not selected (i.e. no lights – not selected, injured or red light - suspended) and you cannot leave a blank position on field unless all other players are either not selected, injured or suspended (e.g. must select a player that is available orange or green light be that in position or out of position). This rule will have the effect that the emergency player score will indeed be for an emergency (i.e. player being pulled out after lock out of ORRFU). Read more at http://tooserious.net/forum/threads/orffu-rules.89266/#u5jSQZVKLb5qqIlg.99 As per the rules, if you name a ruck line of R Stanley and J Graham, and Stanley is named, then you're ok. If Stanley is not named, and there is someone else not in your 19, who is named, then they must be moved to the "vacant" ruck spot. You do however have more than 1 hour (if I calculated correctly) tonight between when the teams get announced and when the Crows-Tigers game starts, to make any necessary changes to get the team you want. For argument's sake, if Stanley is named in the Geelong squad, then you're good, and you get his score if he plays, or Graham's OPP score if Stanley doesn't end up playing. If Stanley is not named in the Geelong squad, then you move Graham onfield as an OPP ruck (or select someone else there who has been named if you think they'll do better than Graham).

Pakenhams round 2 lineup. In what was a weird first game for the Parasites, a nice overall score but a lot of pathetic performances amongst it. We are unsure what we will produce this week. An exciting first game from Marshall was a positive and he keeps his spot this week. The match committee really wants to play the young fella Cerra but have decided to go with the same lineup. A stern warning to the midfield brigade has put all on edge this week. Knowing they will be dropped next week if they don’t perform will hopefully shake them into gear. B: Simpson, Mullett, Johanisen, Carlisle (Brand) M: Gaff, Sidebum, Newnes, Blicavs (Cerra) R: Bellchambers (Vardy) F: Bud, Hogan, Hipwood, Moore I: Sinclair, Marshall (Dureya)
