    Round 2 Korumburra Blowflys (5th) v Christmas Island Smugglers(2nd)

Korumburra welcome the Smugglers to the Terrordome this week in what looks to be another ding dong battle between the two sides. The Dome will be pumping for the first home stand for the Blowflys in 2018.

Korumburra will need to bring their A game to get the W against an impressive full strength Smugglers side that just gets better again this week with the additional firepower of Robbie Gray and Aaron Hall. The Blowflys midfielders and defenders will have their work cut out for them keeping these guys in check and well, nobody can stop the reigning BAFFU medallist Dusty Martin in his current form. Is Kreuzer fully healthy? Will he be able to match it with Goldstein? Will round 1 revelation Riley Bonner be able to play to the same level within the confines of the Terrordome?...

For the Blowflys, Vlastuin misses this week with a delayed concussion - which explains his poor performance last week in his first game in a Blowflys guernsey. The KB medical staff will make sure he is fully recovered before he returns to the side.

Adam Tomlinson gets the call up for his first game for the mighty Blowflys after a good showing in the 2's last week. Zach Guthrie also showed plenty and was stiff to miss selection this week. Both look to have bright futures at Korumburra.

    In : A. Tomlinson

    Out : N. Vlastuin (concussion)

    New : A. Tomlinson

    D - L. Hodge, J. Webster, J Hunt, A. Tomlinson (EMG. Z. Guthrie)
    M - G. Ablett, R. Sloane, S. Menegola, J. Redden (EMG O. Florent)
    R - T. Goldstein (EMG B. Preuss)
    F - M. Walters, G. Hewett, C. Hooker, B. Ainsworth (EMG A. McDonald-Tipungwuti)
    I/C - B. Hartung, J. Dunkley

I would have preferred to be tagged or something with this loophole closure because otherwise I would have put Jenkins on the field

Hmmmm... it looks like we have a problem with the Blanchetown team @martyg.

    Forward line as named is:
Charlie Cameron, Kane Lambert, Jack Silvagni, Will Langford - Darcey Fogarty.

Both Silvagni and Langford are not playing.
Not named in the 19 is Mitch W Brown (Def) who is playing, and Shaun Atley (fwd) who is playing.

I would ordinarily call this playing the loophole, but the problem is that with both Silvagni and Langford not playing, the Bunyips will actually cop a donut! (Please note that I really hate this partial lockout stuff, and now having to be the bad guy and check up on all the teams... fortunately I found no other "loopholing" issues)

The obvious fix is to name Atley in replacement of Langford (for example), to avoid the donut. The problem is that as per rule 1J, there will be the playing Mitch J Brown not even named, while Jack Silvagni stays in the team, with full knowledge that he won't play, in order to get the Fogarty emergency score.

We have to have both Brown and Atley come in for Silvagni and Langford, and Blanchetown misses out on Fogarty's (now known to be 44) points.

    I didn't tag anyone mate.
It was posted in a thread that we all use, so (unless you've changed your notifications to next-to-nothing) you'll get a notification that there's a new post in a thread you've posted in.
Plus its not a recent closure, its a rule that's existed for years. I'm just reiterating that we need to make sure we're following the rules, and as you can see by the above, I'm going to enforce the rule on Blanchetown.

All good mate, at least it's happening in Round 2 when I'm against the top team rather than a close game in the late season...
Guess my hand got caught in the cookie jar

I don't really think you should have to be following up on other coaches. In regards to the loophole we all know this does not occur in ORFFU this is not supercoach !!! I recall last year we decided if you did not name you team in time you would get last weeks named team?

Holky, are you playing funny buggers?

You drop Jesse Joyce from your interchange, who is named on the backline for Gold Coast, to bring in Karl Amon, who may be named on the Port Power extended bench, but he's also very clearly named on the Port Magpies midfield to play the day before. All of this while knowing that your interchange emergency, Josh Jenkins, played last night for the Adelaide Crows, and scored 115 points.

Yeah, Power extended bench, but Magpies midfield... he's clearly playing SANFL this weekend. This is where the problem comes in.

Latest teams have him as an emergency...so he's playing in the 2's as @Bearfly stated before lockout.
    From the AFL website.....
    • EMERGENCIES
    • 15 Karl Amon
    • 19 Jack Trengove
    • 12 Trent McKenzie
    • 3 Jake Neade

All I knew is Amon was a 50/50 to play... I didn't know he was selected for SANFL.
I also reiterate that having known of this ruling, I would have put Jenkins (79 Av) before Joyce and Trengove (62 Av). And a notification in the Round by Round teams is in my opinion not sufficient for what is in essence a change to a rule interpretation. Even with the notification, I would have only interpreted it as someone posting their weekly team as people do on the Round by Round teams thread.
