Midway through the 3rd quarter the visitors have stretched their lead posting 11/904 to the 29ers 7/481 and the home side now needs some monsters scores to bring themselves back into the contest.
Indeed the Atoms would be a strong chance to better their club record 1385 scored against Jan Juc in ORFFF Round 14 in 2016 http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=17&year=2016 It would be great to see another team reach the 1400 point summit. The Atoms have Wingard and Dunkley playing today before Tom Stewart, Burgoyne, Jarryd Roughead and Big Boy bring it home on Easter Monday.
Sorry didn’t get around to posting our line up. 3/4 time in the Shag/Noah tussle sees a swarm of black cats descending on the Heard Is change rooms and bestowing maximum carnage. Crouch has failed to stand up and Krooz woke up dead flat and sent in a dodgy spare in Clarke. The rest have suffered a case of the f$&ked up 50s. Shags 736/11 V Noahs 1159/12
In the early stages of the 4th quarter the Fugitives have compiled 14/1130 while the home side has been able to muster 12/906. Black Swamp will have Duckwood, Henderson and Hardwick suiting up in the last match and are most likely needing all 3 to heavily outscore Rutherglen's Gunston if they are to make a game of it from here.
The 3 S's (I Smith, Sicily and Stanley) are still to play for the WA side while the Wedgies have J Kolo, Menegola and Cam Guthrie to come.
It appears that the Bucks @Dale Duivesteyn have broken their equal all time record losing streak with a win over the Glow-Worms @ViQBoZ with unofficial scores having Nangkita 13/1090 to the visitors 15/1072, with JOM and Shiels looking to extend the margin of victory in the final game.
In a finish as tight as that between the Hawks and Cats the match at Black Swamp appears to be within a few points with scaling (or potential calculation errors) possibly deciding the result with the 29ers nominally on 1221 to the visitors 1216.
After losing by a point (half a point?) last week, another super close nailbiter this week. The Whales 1312 with Tuohy scaling to come vs the Ducks 1309 with Ablett and 1/2 Hawkins scaling to come! EDIT: All the Cats got scaled down, so Whales 1311 defeat Ducks 1306. Sydney like 0-2 performance coming up for the Ducks!
Before scaling i have the boozers getting pummeled, 1153 to 1396, Burgoyne's early injury costing the Atoms a chance of 1500.
The Virgins on 1,291 defeat the White Pointers on 1,203 The home side had their engine room firing lead by Polec and Mundy. Yolman and Gray tapped in well while Hurn and Simpson kept things together in defence. While for the visitors Billy "No" Longer received a paper cut and had to leave the field. Below average scores from the visitors on most line with the exception of Wines, Hogan, Laird, Barrass, and Marshall coming in for the Green machine. It was a "lucky win" said by many a commentator and it was, the forwards will be sent straight to Sam Newman's school of "Kicking" as the team awaits the return of JJK to the beloved goal square.
ORFFF Round 2 highlights The Noahs @That KI Guy topping their previous highest score with 1493 (7th highest all time) destroying Heard Island @anthak by a competition record 450 points and extending their Head to Head Record to a perfect 3 from 3. The Atoms @Brett Sanders also set a new club mark of 1393 and in doing so manage to upset the Boozers @leematty1 - stopping their competition record winning streak at 13 and dealing Mt Thirsty a club record 241 point loss while taking a 2-1 lead in the all time head to head honours. Cockburn @Len manage to make a 2-0 start to 2018 via a 77 point maiden win over the Dropbears @stowie who have now lost 3 straight for the first time in club history, while the 29ers took advantage of a 6 goal breeze in the last quarter to defeat the Fugitives @tyze1 by 16 points and move to 2-0 despite at one stage appearing certain 150 point losers to their nearest neighbours. Walpole @port_leschenault broke 1300 points for the 2nd consecutive week to score a comfortable 93 point win away to Port Lincoln @MrsBear to sit 2nd on the ladder in a sign the Woylies' domination of the completion may be ready to commence in 2018 despite their coaches focus on the 2019-2021 window. Nangkita @Dale Duivesteyn finally breaking through for a win as they dispatched Mole Creek @ViQBoZ by 175 points. ORFFF Round 2 lowlights Jan Juc @thokash secured back to back single digit losses with a 5 point loss to the Whales @Darran with the visitors wasting a vintage 144 point effort by Geelong's prodigal little master in the Easter Monday nail biter. Wedge Island @Bearfly also fell to 0-2 in as the Virgins @YAD69 opened their 2018 account with an 88 point maiden victory over the White Pointers. An 0-3 result for the ORFFF teams playing in the opening round of 2018 intercomp knockout play as Black Swamp, Port Lincoln and Mole Creek were each dispatched by their ORFF* opponents in a sign the ORFFF’s strong display in the 2017 knockout will be a hard act to follow in season 2018.
