I've got to say I'm a little disappointed about this. I actually asked about this exact thing a few weeks ago and got no response when I played one short because a player was dropped for the easter Monday game after the Friday lockout. I don't disagree with the decision but it has to be consistent across all split rounds. See my post on 1/4/18 in this thread that I tagged you in @JPK

Pakenhams round 5 lineup to take on the up and coming Crocs. 2 and 2 after 4 rounds we would have taken to start the year but after being in the game last week the Parasites are slightly disappointed we didn’t pinch an unlikely win, still a positive start to the year considering we are in rebuild mode or restock mode what ever you choose. Going into this week we are hopeful to get back on the winning track, 1 change to the team and a good flogging on the track. A better performance is what we require to take the chocolates this week. B: Simpson, Mullett, Carlisle, Johanisen M: Sidebum, Gaff, Newnes, Blicavs R: Bellchambers F: Buddy, Hogan, Hipwood, Marshall. (Dureya) I: Sinclair, Cerra In: Mullett. Out: Dureya Dureya gets a rest and Mullett comes back in after a nice performance last week. The Pakenham Jnr brigade of Marshall, Cerra, Hipwood and Sinclair are holding there own but with inconsistent scores thems goes the team. Fingers crossed this week. Go Siters!
Round 5 - Korumburra Blowflys (15th) vs Coolgardie Prospectors (9th) Coming off a very disappointing 3 straight losses, the Blowflys jump on the magic bus and travel close to 3000 kms this week to take on the Coolgardie Prospectors. Now missing 3 of the their top 5 players so far in 2018 the Flys will be pushing it uphill but who knows!? Crazier things have happened. After 6 days on the trail, Korumburra's #1 Private Detective / Renderer "Dave" managed to locate the mysterious Michel Barlow at a vipassana retreat, deep inland from Kanchanburi, Thailand. Time will tell if this enlightened ball magnet will utilise the one way ticket back to Oz that "Dave" provided to restart his career as a gun footballer or simply remain in remote obscurity, witnessing his own silent contemplation of existence. If I remember rightly mate, the difference is that your situation involved a late out, while this weekend four AFL clubs have yet to name even a squad. We all take risks on extended benches and late outs in later games in the round, but its a very different thing when we don't even know if the player is in the 25.
Considering my team has just recovered from the divine punishment it took in round 3 where I was down to 13 players... I'll keep it a o good this time
I'm not sure what you mean by risks on extended benches, teams for Sunday games are always named before the Friday lockout. I'm pretty sure the Geelong/Hawthorn teams weren't named before the lockout because they played on the Monday.
This is what I'm getting at mate. Monday morning, after all other games are complete, and.... For this reason we have a rolling lockout this weekend, for these two matches only. Fvcking AFL
What I'm saying is the teams weren't named for the Geelong/Hawthorn game before the Friday lockout either. Seems like the same thing to me. Surely we should have a consistent rule for split rounds rather than make it up as we go along depending on how someone feels at the time. We have a rolling lockout for Thursday games, how is Monday different?
The squad was named for the Monday games prior to the Friday lockout. Right now the squads for the Tuesday and Wednesday games have still not been named. The rolling lockout for Thursday is because it is an anomaly where the game can start prior to squads being named for the other games. These players therefore need to be locked in prior to when we'd normally have lockout. A Monday game still normally sees squads announced on the Thursday night, and definitely before the Friday lockout starts. These players can therefore be locked into our ORFFU teams prior to lockout, with the same "risk" of squads for Monday games as we have for Sunday games. This round is obviously very different because we still haven't seen squads announced for either the Tuesday or the Wednesday game. Locking in players who may not even be in the squad is just not right, hence the flexibility to change these after their squads have actually been named (and after the completion of other matches). However options will be limited, as they can only be replaced with players from these four teams.
