Ok, so we will have two lockouts this week. First lockout will be Friday nights game as normal. After the last game on Sunday I will change the lockout Second lockout will be the start of the Tuesday night game. I appreciate it's different to what we have done before, but we have not faced the naming of four teams on a Monday before, and this feels the fairest approach for all concerned. For the sake of my sanity keep all loop-holing legitimate and only name players in the second stanza who are named to play or are emergencies if you don't have enough named.
Thanks Len. That seems like the way to go. Maybe it'll give me time to get Zac Smith back from Heard Island.
Provisional Hoppers for Round 5....... IN: Hunt - Rayner* OUT: Weitering - Cameron DEF: Mills - Shaz - Hardwick - Hunt (Coffield) MID: Cripps - ECurnow - Neale - McClug FWD: CCurnow - Billings - Martin - Stringer (Cameron) RCK: Grundy (Cox) I/C: Fisher - Rayner* (Marshall*) * Denotes RS
Cradle Mountain Devils Round 5 2018 team vs Gundagai Grasshoppers In: T Membrey, J Steele Out: A McDonald-Tipungwut (omitted), Z Jones (omitted) Def: M Hurley, P Seedsman, N Vlastuin, J Lever (A Naughton) Mid: S Pendlebury, D Zorko, D Heppell, D Zaharakis (S Grigg) Ruck: T Nankervis Fwd: T Lynch, T Membrey, J Gresham, T English (A McDonald-Tipungwuti) Int: J Steele, J Hopper (Z Jones) For their Round 5 game against the Grasshoppers, Devils forward Tim Membrey returns from injury and midfielder Jack Steele has been recalled with AMT and Zak Jones both being omitted. During their seven seasons in the ORFFA the Cradle Mountain Devils have a poor record in close games and 2018 is shaping up as being no different, being defeated by Birdsville by 39 points in Round 3 and losing to Darraweit by 25 points last weekend. During the pre-season the Devils were widely expected to challenge for a top four position however after Round 4 CMD have a 1-3 record to be 12th on the ladder with too much being left to too few. Only three CMD midfielders are averaging over 80 and no forwards are averaging over 70, for the Devils to recapture their 2018 form they need a more consistent team effort and two of their leadership group members have to elevate their performance well above these marks in Dayne Zorko (ave of 78) and Tom Lynch (ave of 61).
A point of clarification please @Len. If a team has someone who played listed as an Emergency, does his score count if there are not four players selected on that line; at least one of whom did not play?
Yes, but if a coach had players available from the last 2 games and did not name said available players (excluding OOP) in order to enable a loophole I WILL alter their team to include said players prior to scoring happening. i.e. Emergencies are emergencies, not loophole tools.
Blimps Round 5 team: In: WHE, Jack, Buzza Out: Lewis (inj), Aliir, (omitted), Smith (missing) DEF: Savage, Rance, Astbury, May (DBJ) MID: Cogs, Lyons, Pretzels, Newnes (Poholke) R: Buzza (Jack) FWD: Gunston, Walters, Caddy, Sideshow I/C: WHE, Shed (EVW) Hoskin-Elliot returns after being unfairly omitted last week. Buzza and Jack come in to handle ruck duties. May lucky to retain his spot over Vickers-Willis. Poholke getting closer to a debut. Also hopeful of flying the ORFFA flag into the knockout semis .... let see how we go.
Tentative Cows team for the round 5 home fixture against the Misfits. Best of luck Len, Ihopee you enjoy the peace and quiet away from admin work. D - J McGovern, M Hibberd, J McVeigh, H Morrison (R Burton) M - T Mitchell, N Fyfe, D Hannebery, D Prestia (J Allison) R - S Jacobs F - T McLean, B Parfitt, J Dunkley. M Robinson (T Papley) I/C - S Menegola, D Howe (B White) May well have stuffed up the defence and forward lines, but them's thee breaks after a stunning lunch at an Argentinian restaurant (inti.nz).
Packer very battered team for round 5 DEFENDER Nathan Wilson, Andrew McGrath, Marley Williams, Curtly Hampton MIDFIELDER Luke Dunstan, David Mundy, Jaidyn Stephenson, Sam Kerridge RUCK Majak DAW FORWARD Tom Lynch, Alex Neal-Bullen, Brandon MATERA, Alexander FASOLO INTERCHANGE Cameron McCarthy, George Hewett

DEFENDERS Rory Laird, Jake Lloyd, Nick Haynes, Adam Tomlinson MIDFIELDERS Callan Ward, Lachie Whitfield, Marc Murphy, Caleb Daniel RUCKS lol FORWARDS Tim Taranto, Devon Smith, Joe Daniher, Orazio Fantasia INTERCHANGE James Aish, Jamie Elliott
Hunter picked a shit time to get suspended, but at least I got my wish of having more than 4 forwards to choose from. I've got my fingers crossed for a competitive effort this week, but I'm not optimistic. The Chooks should be warm favourites in this one. Battlers team for round 5: DEF: Witherden, Ryan, Doedee, Robertson MID: Treloar, Blakely, Sheed, L McDonald (Cerra) RUCK: Witts FWD: Acres, Taylor, Hipwood, Weller (Turner) IC: Cutler, Clarke (McKay) Nice to see Tom Doedee continue his strong early form tonight. Beginning to think I should trade away my early picks from now on and enter the draft from about 40 onward - that seems to be where my most successful picks come from!
Pom poms twirling out in Nunawading right now. Big games from Simpson and Thomas, and an injury and poor score to Newnes, has the Nuffers in the drivers seat early on.
My team is crap. I want to trade most of them, particularly the forwards and defenders. I think you will be right JC. Mark Seaby would probably get a game in my side.
From the ORFFF thread: @Len since when was loopholing deemed cheating in the FA? I missed that. I took an opportunity earlier this season to loophole an emergency’s score and I was transparent about it in the weekly thread but nothing was said to oppose it then.
You may be right, CR. The inconsistency in so many of my players brings a lack of faith. And anything over 60 would get a run in my forward line or IC at the moment, so Seaby would probably get a game for me too!
My post related to this round specifically. The conditions on which we are playing a split round were very clear.
