The Whales are now 10/722 with Astbury, Caddy, Lambert, Murray and WHE to play on Tuesday/Wednesday, trailing the 29ers who are 12/1021 with Edwards, ANB and JDG still to add to the side's tally. Do we have any other progress scores ?
Boozers are on 1,062/14 75.9 to the Virgins on 1,178/14 84.1 Hurley to come for the homeside & Phillips for the visitors.
The Avengers are are all in at 1393, Cerra's heroics as a backup ruck for a 4th gamer will become club legend. Unf I have not tracked the Bucks
Update from the Ducks Fugitives Clash On the road and the Fugitives have opened up a small buffer early in third. Plenty to play out in this one JJD 658/8/82 + Crisp, Houli, Lever, Zaharakis, Jones, Grundy & Stringer RGF 899/10/90 + Salem, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Parish, Goddard
Midway through the last quarter the Whales have surged to 13/1007 while the 29ers are now on 14/1156. Mac Island have Murray and WHE running out on Anzac Day while Black Swamp's JDG will be looking to score enough to keep his team in front through the final stanza.
Fair chance it is too little too late, but at least in the spirit of rivalry round we are going to make the 29ers earn any victory that comes their way.
2018 Rivalry Round Recap The 29ers, Fugitives @tyze1 and Power @MrsBear managed their first ever ORFFF Rivalry Round wins against the Whales @Darran, Ducks @thokash and Atoms @Brett Sanders respectively. The Power registered the 5th lowest ever winning score in the 7th lowest ever aggregate scoring match in ORFFF history, and perhaps the first ever win managed by a team fielding 2 donuts. Drouin @stowie and Cockburn @Len registered their 3rd straight wins in rivalry round footy, with the Glow-Worms @ViQBoZ and Bucks @Dale Duivesteyn at least running the victors closer than in their previous 2 contests. The Avengers will still want to play the Bucks every week as they have prevailed by 200 plus in each of their 3 meetings. Walpole @port_leschenault posted a club record score in easily accounting for the Shags @anthak, with the 222 point margin also a new Woylies club best, in the 3rd consecutive match in the H2H series won by the away side. Useless Loop @YAD69 moved ahead of the Boozers @leematty1 after beating them by 64 points and once again their matches have all been won by the away side. Neptune Island @That KI Guy walloped Wedge Island @Bearfly by the 9th highest ever winning margin (2nd highest win/loss for either side) with the White Pointers 964 being the 6th lowest of all time and notably the Wedge Island sides 2 lowest scores have now been in rivalry round. Once again the existing H2H pattern was extended, with home teams having now won on all 3 occasions. In the ORFF* knockout the Whales were gallant in defeat against Darraweit Guim of the ORFFA and the Avengers were too classy for fellow trippers Useless Loop in a high scoring contest. Well done to @Darran and @YAD69 for making to the Quarters and our best wishes go to @Len for his pursuit of the 2018 knockout title.
Love your pre and post round analysis @TheTassieHawk The 29ers again coincidentally understated. Can't fly under the radar when you're sitting on top.
@That KI Guy Black Swamp are very happy to be a much improved side after a shocking 2017. If this was real life footy you could mount a decent case for the club being amongst the top few chances for the title. I rate points scored and little else in determining favorites so whether you think 5-0 is flattering or not the clear case on that basis is that there are 2 clubs well in front (Fugitives and Noahs) and 2 a little behind (Woylies and Virgins) then the chasing hoard. A lot can change in 2-3 weeks and Barlow returning and better team selection could help the 29ers break the 1300 point barrier sometime soon but we have to do so consistently before being a flag chance in my book.
