Score update from the Dino Dome sees the visiting Sandgropers well in control, leading by 325 points:- Southern Cross Sandgropers 862/10/86 Hughenden Prairie Dogs 537/7/76 Can the PDogs respond in the final third and cause an upset? Lol
Waiting for final scaling of the scores but the scores I have show that Banchang and Coolgardie @JPK have played a draw 1163-1163 at the Stadium... Final report to come.
Can't remember if half points round up or down but final score at the Eden Sporting Complex is Ararat 1199 to Eden 1012 (or 1011). Full report to come.
All over at the Dino Dome with the Sandgropers smashing the home team in the last ninth of the game. Darling (181) and McGovern (123) took control and the home team couldn't manage a comeback. Final scores Southern Cross Sandgropers 1,379 Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,201 Match report to come......
Ararat have maintained their unbeaten record, knocking off the Smugglers by a measley 17 points in an absolute belter 1304-1287.
Just looking at reports from Eden and Christmas Is. That team from Ararat can certainly play if both reports are correct...
In a high scoring affair the Barracudas on 1,461/15 97.4 have taken care of the Panthers on 1,331/15 88.7 Full match report to come.
In a recount just to hand, it appears in the Essendon game, Fantasia was awarded 109 points in my scoring, but scaling has seen that score reduced to 108, so it looks like the Barcrawlers may have snatched a win over the Prospectors 1163-1162, but this is not official yet.... @JPK
A blood bath at Mill Park sees the Bulls take home their first win against Blanchetown in a club record margin of 470 odd points. SFB 1279 BBU 808 @martyg
@bryzza Over at The Swamp, the Vikings have knocked off the Crocs by 150 points, 1258 to 1108. Match report to come once scores have been audited.
The term "bugger" comes to mind. Baguley on the pine, and too many players cruising through the weekend really didn't help the cause.
So not only have Ararat played two different clubs in one week, they've scored two different scores! Extraordinary scenes
It certainly was a barn burner as the Armadillos were happy to be back home, receive the first match report in 3 weeks, and playing host to the gentleman from Christmas Island. The match see-sawed all weekend with the final result 1304 AA vs 1287 CIS. Damo could rightly feel somewhat stiff, and not in the preferred sense, as the Smugglers were let down by Kreuzer’s 60, Bonner’s 48 and the entire forward line really; Gray (67) and Scheer (39) didn’t play to their potential, while only 1 former Armadillo got the memo to tank against his previous side with Taylor (52) doing the right thing but Westhoff (89) plus Isaac Smith (107) on the interchange well and truly let the locals down. The mids were as strong as ever with the lowest score being a 102, however again it could’ve been so much more with Dustin Martin ‘only’ scoring 103. @DamoH must be pleased with A-A-ron (key and peele anyone?) Hall’s top score of 137, a return to form by Jake Lever with 104 and the Bombers captain Heppell not only scoring 113 but also allegedly having a big match committee influence by having opposition utility Darcy Parish dropped. Your Ararat Armadillos were saved by the Demons contingent as usual and one wonders if the flattering ladder position is papering over some big cracks. The people’s beard (121) dominated Kreuzer all day and Tom McDonald eased his way to 118 doing as he pleased. The young backline of Luke Ryan (121) and Tom Cutler (113) made up for Tom Stewart’s rare shocker (57). Nothing of note in the mids with all four failing to reach triple figures. The Chad enjoyed his foray upfield (read: to the interchange) and managed an 83 while Rich (51) clearly prefers to play down back and Ah Chee’s (57) promotion could be as swift as his coming demotion. Whilst an (un)reliable source was quick to hype up next week’s big matchup with @eagle_eyed Sand Gropers, in scenes reminiscent of the Armadillos efforts this weekend fielding two sides against two opposition and managing two different scores, they will also be playing @Tylo and an in form KIM. The Smugglers are back on their home deck and attempt to defuse the Grenades.
Oops, How did I get that confused Gisborne 1199 to Eden 1012. But there seems to be a difference between the TSLeagues team and the team in the thread.
In the wash-up at The Stadium, the local Barcrawlers 1163 have hung on over the Prospectors 1162 to record their 4th win on the trot. In a nail-biting 2nd half, the visitors, with a deficit of 173 to overcome, Coolgardie's remaining 6 tried valiantly to reduce the margin and with their 3 man defence in full swing, it seemed a mere formality to restrict Banchang's 2 man attack. But someone forgot to tell Impey 84 and Robinson 73, whose combined effort, along with young backman Barrass's 63 down back was enough to get the locals home. JPK can feel a little hard done by, as his defence of Sicily 77 and Duggan 85 performed well, but he was let down by Astbury 32, while he had Baguley 104 sitting at home playing seconds for the feeder club, Bullabulling Bullfrogs and his remaining forward Wright 55, didn't fire, nor did Rioli 64, off the bench. All in all, a thriller with Banchang moving up to 10th and Coolgardie out of the 8 now, at 9th. Full time here at the Eden Sporting Complex and another week with similar results, the top players excelling but too many players missing the mark. Jones stepped up for Curnow leading with 116 to even poll a vote but Gisborne ended up winning by a fair bit. Witts led the way in his on week for the Grenades while SPP got a career-high 128. There was some confusion with Wilson stealing Pittarrd's seat on the bus and Gibson made his return with a score of 80. With the win, Gisborne stay in sight of the 8 while we just keep it together until the MSD. Next week we play Banchang while Gisborne are off to Christmas Island.
