Himmelberg is in the side at D4 due to Hurley’s injury and is almost certain to be omitted when Hurley returns. The Devils Interchange has been a revolving door throughout 2018 with five midfielders - Jack Steele, Jack Redden, Dayne Zorko, Jacob Hopper and Jack Steele all spending time on the bench. After impressive form in the seconds Redden was recalled to the seniors bench in Round 8 and scored back to back tons to consolidate his place in the side. The Int 2 position is well and truly up for grabs and after back to back 60’s Zak Jones has been omitted, replaced by Jacob Hopper who has earnt his chance after scoring 88 and 99 in the past two weeks in the seconds. The biggest area of the concern is the forward line with Tom Lynch being the only automatic inclusion with the second ranked Devils forward – Jade Gresham averaging just 66. The Devils forward line is the club’s obvious focus in the mid-season trade and draft period. Round 10 opponent Iron Knob is at the opposite end of the spectrum in relation to talent in the forward line having two of the three top ranked forwards as well as another two forwards ranked in the top 26 for their position. The Devils get a slight reprieve with Iron Knob star forward Robbie Gray unable to play this weekend.

Good point @Bandit although it is fitting that Steele was the player named twice as he is the player who has rotated through the Devils bench the most, the second Steele was meant to be Zak Jones.

Gariwerd has been hit hard by several players ducking off to China mid-season too! Including Touk Miller who was due for promotion to the senior side after some good form in the Cockatoo magoos. and for some reason the match committee have selected Chad Wingard despite it looking likely he won’t get back from China in time for the game, and what’s worse the emergency for the forward line won’t play either.
