Based on timestamp, 11.01pm for @stripey about 3 hours from now, or default pick is Joel Smith (Melb, M/D). Hopefully he checks in.
From memory, we stop the timer between midnight and 6 am, which by my reckoning means his 12 hours would end at 5:01 pm
Simply an observation, but between midnight and dawn in Australia could be prime picking time in Bangkok.
I may have missed something here TiB but I read Jason's statement to mean if we are waiting on a pick the 12 hour max is put on hold between those hours. It does not prevent those of us who live in different time zones, or anybody else, making a pick during the "clock stopped period."
Yeah it's 10pm to 4am where I am so bit awkward if I'm up next early in morning but we keep it Vic centric in keeping with the main ethos of the AFL. As in everything revolves around Melbourne, including the Sun.
You don't miss much at all chels. My guess is that your current clock is probably centred around the World Cup . But I digress. If I am to understand Jason correctly, 12 hours grace is given to a coach to make a pick. That 12-hour period is not counted between the hours of midnight and 6. The clock stops. I assume the logic is that most people are asleep during those hours, and no one would witness the pick anyway. My "observation" is that someone such as myself could well be active during those hours and, were I to be the next pick in line, could conceivably take my pick if the 12 hour period expired during 12 to 6. Perhaps I have misunderstood the nature of this beast? What is beyond debate is that slow drafts give people like me far too much time to ponder the irrelevant.
