Here are the matchups. Be at it. Wagga Wagga Wombats v Nareewillock Nuffers Birdsville Battlers v Darraweit Guim Dirigibles Cradle Mountain Devils v Foul Bay Chickens Lovely Banks Lilacs v Gundagai Grasshoppers Iron Knob Codpieces v Larrikin Lagoon Lefties Marble Bar Misfits v Gariwerd Cockatoos Mount Beauty Uglies v Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles Whitsunday Warriors v Venus Bay Vultures Charlies Opening Spelunkers v Wineglass Bay Packers No theme this week, so I will use it as a tribute to one of the champions of the game, my 14 year old son was almost in tears last night, and the guy will leave a huge hole in both the best 18 and the supporters hearts. Go you good thing! Thanks for the memories.
Not sure if we have a Thursday lockout but I'll name my Swans vs Cats starters D: M: M. Blicavs R: F: I: O. Florent
A lovely segue to my Cats and Swans players: Def: (Aliir emergency) Ruck: (Buzza emergency) Have given up trying to figure out who the late out or in might be at Geelong given it is a weekly thing. So I'll just name Buzza and hope. I don't like these Thursday night games.
Cradle Mountain Devils provisional Round 13 2018 team vs Foul Bay Chickens In: H Himmelberg, J Steele, T Lynch Out: A Naughton (omitted), J Hopper (injured) N Vlastuin (suspended) Def: M Hurley, P Seedsman, B Cox, H Himmelberg (A Naughton) Mid: S Pendlebury, D Heppell, D Zorko, J Redden(J Roughead OOP) Ruck: T Nankervis Fwd: J Gresham, T Membrey, T Lynch, A McDonald-Tipungwuti (B Daniels) Int: Z Jones, J Steele (T Boyd)
Brad Hill is named for his Nuffers debut this weekend, replacing Conca. Dow is rested so we have 15 + 1 playing emergency plus Petrucelle on the 8 man bench and 2 emergencies in our squad of 19. Our final team is subject to shuffling if Menadue is a late callup on Friday night. Much of this week's match will depend on whether @Lenny120's mob bother to field players who get named in their AFL side (such as Crozier or Willie Rioli) on the interchange bench rather than roll out an unchanged Round 12 Krispy Kreme inspired lineup (Barrass and Ridley), although even with 14 they could be too strong.
Thursday night bridge - come home to see Macca with a limp arm. Darn, 90+ point defenders are a bit scarce. Some interesting ins and outs means the final team will probably look like: D - McVeigh, McGovern, Hibberd Gardiner (Morrison) M - Mitchell, Prestia, Thomas, McLean (Hannebery) R - Jacobs F - Parfitt, Menegola, Robinson, Dunkley I - Burton, Howe (Apeness) However, as always, there is the possibilty of change before the final lookout. Bama's boys appear to have enough quality to be in with a real shout against a weakened herd of cows.
"We do mate, all the loopholers currently in paroxysms of joy." Some fine wordsmithing there Len. Ah, "paroxysms of joy". reminds me of my youth. A glassy day with a nice beach break in water warmed by its movement over sunbaked sand. Then an evening in a country pub. Like you, I would like to see a (voluntary) end to loop holing in ORFFA. But while it is there a little subtle use, yes? Just because habits are hard to break. No bullshit excuses though please.
Spudlunkers team to take on the Packers... Sean Darcy finally gets a run after a battle with injury early this year. Good luck @Tracey, our subterranean dwellings make excellent for wine storage, as temperatures are nicely regulated.
Misfits fired up to take the the Cockies, we even have 4 emergencies DEFENDERS Jake Lloyd, Jimmy Webster, Nick Haynes, Daniel Rich - Adam Tomlinson MIDFIELDERS Josh Kelly, Callan Ward, Lachie Whitfield, Marc Murphy - Stefan Giro RUCKS Patrick Ryder - Billy Longer FORWARDS Devon Smith, Tim Taranto, Matthew Deboer, Orazio Fantasia - Caleb Daniel INTERCHANGE Hugh Greenwood, Matthew Kennedy
Heading to the Knob for a whack Def - Brayshaw, McKenzie, Cole, Duryea (Perryman) Mid - Ross, Phillips, Weller, Berry (Ainsworth) Ruck - Matho Fwd - Simpkin, Hayward, Langford, Gowers (Shipley oop) I/C - Dumont, Daicos (O'Riordan)
Battlers team for round 13 Out: Battle In: Sheed (if the makes the cut tonight) DEF: Witherden, Ryan, Doedee, Cutler MID: Hunter, Cerra, L McDonald, Sheed - hopefully RUCK: Witts (Crossley) FWD: T McDonald, Taylor, Ronke, Weller (Turner) IC: Clarke, Robertson (Hipwood)
I’ve never had a problem with loopholing (except for activating them by not selecting a player!), but I have had an until now secret distaste for bullshit excuses haha I do acknowledge that it’s sometimes difficult to be certain if any excuse is bullshit. One time I legitimately selected an emergency who happened to tonne up so I couldn’t resist loopholing him, and it might’ve seemed like a bullshit excuse at the time. Actually same thing has happened for me this week in the ORFFF, I’ve got Aliir as emergency and I’ll take the opportunity to use his score. Mostly my loopholes are legitimate, such as last week with Kane Lambert
I'll be requesting another discussion at the end of the year, I abhor it and would rather be beaten by someone doing it than do it myself to win. This isn't the time for any in depth discussion, just tabling my thoughts as I've been asked about it a couple of times in the last week privately.
Normally we would welcome some sunshine and fresh air down on the Peninsula, the odd boutique winery and some fresh seafood. Not this weekend though. We lost to Fitzy by one miserable point in R1. He is never, ever going to let us get that close again. I guess when you are knocking out 1400s week in, week out, you don't even think about loopholing.
