ORFFU RND 14 - Southern Cross Sandgropers 1256 defeated by @wrightbrendan ’s Serengeti Buffaloes 1351 The season was on the line for the Buffaloes, they needed to come to the Sandpit and make a statement. Patrick Dangerfield made that statement. He started like a bull at a gate posting a huge 158, ably supported by Steven (136), to help his team to a 114 point lead. Even with Hurley (120), Wallis (116) and Smith (104) raising the bat it wasn’t enough to reduce the margin; Merrett (102) and new boy Parish (115) ensured the home side remained at arms length taking a 126 point lead into the last quarter. With the match slipping away McGovern (132) stood up in defence to drag the Sandgropers back into the match but his efforts were in vain as Brown (120) piled on the goals to set up victory. It would have taken a 140+ score from Ryder (49) to win the match but all was lost when he suffered a game ending hip injury. The visiting Buffaloes took out the match by 95 points. The loss for Southern Cross sees us fall back to the pack and put a top two finish in jeopardy, whereas Serengeti collect the four points and keep themselves in the finals race. ORFFU RND 13 - Southern Cross Sandgropers 1298 def @Tomster ’s Gisborne Grenades 1235 The game started brightly for the Sandgropers with Duncan & Selwood scoring 125 a piece, the same couldn’t be said for the visitors as Kelly had a rare bad game handing the home side a 184 point lead at quarter time. Prestia (99) kept things ticking along for the home side while Lambert (83) sent the ball inside 50 for the visitors. Gisborne got on a roll with Brayshaw (126) excelling whilst ex-Sandgroper Harmes (99) and Gresham (97) combined well up forward to help the visitors pull away to a 196 point lead at the last change. Witts (129) tried valiantly for the Grenades but Hurley (100) and Smith (124) won enough of the ball to get Southern Crossover the line by 63 points. We are only 6/9ths of the way through the game at the Dino Dome and the homeside must've thought it was the bye Round and are digging for fossils. Serengeti Buffalos 940/11/85 Hughenden P/Dogs 512/9/56

3 Quarter Time at the Eden Sporting Complex and it's a close game with the Whalers having a narrow lead 11/852 (av 77) to Pakenham 12/891 (av 74) Still to play Eden: Cordy, Curnow, Motlop, Trengove Pakenham: Johanisen, Davis, Gaff Given how close these players match up, it's expected to come down to the point.

Early reports suggest that the Mighty Blowflys have managed to do what no other team in the ORFFU has been able to this season - defeat the formerly undefeated Armadillos! Despite playing a man short in defence and being forced to throw an inexperienced young midfielder down back to help out... Despite having to make another last minute change this week when young Sean Darcy couldn’t get up in time for the game... The Blowflys have displayed massive intestinal fortitude and a huge collective set of cojones to end bitter rival Ararat’s dream of an undefeated season by 7 points in an absolute nail biter! There will be a few sore heads when the Sun comes up in Korumburra tomorrow morning after what will surely be some large celebrations tonight! Full match report to come...
With a big finish in front of goals the Barracudas grab a win 1,325/15 88.3 defeating the Grenades @Tomster on 1,241/15 82.7 Match report to come.
