A lot of teams will, like the cows, be very interested in upcoming injury reports. Too many heifers on the park while high quality livestock rest in the vet's paddock.
Lucky you played my lot this week. What a performance that was. Didn't help that when updating my team I failed to remove a suspended player . Wouldn't have made a difference to the result, but I would've scored over 1000. I got 50% of the emergency score, at least. Our season's not a full inferno yet, but it's well on the way....
Quite disappointed. Ant and I were neck and neck going into Sunday but well credentialled players again failed me. Such a pity, the rest of the guys had played so well - my veterans played great, youngsters were solid, then Walters, Brown and Adams just failed to come to play. Fitzy, despite his misgivings, probably has the chance to end my season next week. Some critical gazes will be cast at some of my players once season is over.
Gariwerd’s win this week has guaranteed a top 8 spot for us! I now need to beat @snoz by 300 to get into the top 3, otherwise I’d probably rather lose to ensure I don’t make top4! Haha That 4th position is a death trap
And also with an injury-affected 17 from Stewart. Huge score - and Moore and Trengrove looking to move to defence next year (or be D/F) also bodes well.
Congratulations @Jen, you are now a card carrying member of the "played in the magoos and went huge" club. @Fitzy and @ChiefRussell and l (and perhaps others to whom I apologise if I have overlooked them) have previously documented similar poor selections. I failed to learn from leaving Parfitt (168) on the bench in round 4 and used him oop last weekend to cover my defenders - he scored 119. We are happy for other ORFFANs to confess in an attempt to join this "select" club.
I think we've all had those stories along the way, @graeme . I still remember WAY back in the early days having Dan Merrett go for 170-something in the magoos, and then well and truly reverting to the mean when I put him on field the following week. Was the first of many, but that one still sticks in the memory.
Yeah I’ve commented many times on these issues at Gariwerd too. I think it just shows how big of a step up it is from reserves to senior level. Most of our teams have our reserves in local leagues around the country, but the ORFFA is a fair dinkum Association. It’s no wonder some players dominate when dropped but struggle to replicate that form in the FA.
