The game is slipping away from @Tylo ’s visiting Monarchs with the Sandgropers pulling out to a 390 point lead, albeit with 2 extra players.

    SCS - 1111/12/93
    KIM - 721/10/72

    Go ‘Gropers!

The Barracudas are on 933/12 77.8 to the Whalers @HOLKY on 873/12 72.8

@Batfink put the hex on the Cudas with some under performances on field. It will be an interesting finish.

What a terribly sh!t quality game its turning out to be in the Goldfields, as both teams appear to have given up and gone home already.

at 6/9th we have a 390 point lead for the locals.

    Coolgardie: 1027 / 13 / 79.0
    Hughenden: 637 / 9.5 / 63.7 @Batfink

    To come we have
Coolgardie: T Miller and M Wright
    Hughenden: E Yeo, B Sheppard, C Oliver, C Ward, C Spargo.

Leading the way is T Dumont on 132, bringing up the rear is K Jack on 43 (or the OOP L Greenwood on 37).

    The Buff are in serious looking too far ahead mode with plenty of underperforming players that may be saved only because not enough crocs made the journey over to Serengeti. Closing in on 3/4 time it is;

    Serengeti 862/11/78 v Cow Bay 724/10/72

Grenades 596/7/85.1 down to the Barcrawlers 836/10/83.6. Points on the board or players to come? This match could go either way

This about sums up the last 3 games for the P Dogs, lucky to scrape together 1,000 points, will need some outstanding efforts to narrow the gap.

Grenades now out to 1032/12/86, with Neale, Wilson and Masten to bring it home; Barcrawlers with 974/13/74.9 with Langdon and Barass left look well shot after a 2-metre Peter injury

Did Hughenden score 620 in the last 3/9ths of the game to steal a win?

The Smugglers have undeservedly beaten the Bunyips, 1100-1068.

In a Carlton-like performance the Smugglers struggled against a team they had a 2 man advantage over, but unlike the Blues, they did limp over the line.

Such a poor performance (the worst of the year) despite the win, is likely to have ramifications for the home team’s finals aspiarations, with points for looking to determine spots 2-5.

    Full report to come.

The Bulls have staged a big Sunday comeback to run out 100 points thereabouts victors over the Parasites 1319 - 1218 holding up their end of the bargain in trying to force their way back in to the 8!

@insider @TigersTooTough what the hell happened in this one...

a couple of ~150 point games will do that for you!
(it also cost you three spots in the PSD, but don't think about that too much!)

Serengeti have hung on to win 1297 - 1156. The home crowd are still shouting young J Kelly drinks after his monster game (205!) dragged an otherwise underperforming side over the line and into the finals

Gisborne Grenades 1307 defeated Banchang Barcrawlers 1105

Despite both teams already out of the finals race, the final match of the season left much to play for in the coveted Master vs Apprentice rivalry. With Banchang starting the round at 7-9 and Gisborne 6-9, the Grenades were keen to record a record number of winners for the season, wile Banchang were aiming to prevent the record from being recorded on the records. The Gisborne crowd have been buoyed by the recent success of the boys, while few Barcrawler fans seemed interested in crawling across the seas down to Central Victoria.

For the Grenades, the win came from simple consistency. 6 tons were recorded, but none over 120, compared to the Barcrawlers 3. It was a team effort from the Grenades, starting with Angus "could never play again, must veto trade" Brayshaw's 115 in defence. Lachie "I'm the real #gisbornegun, not Liam Jones" Neale continued his strong finish to the season with 120, while Tim "how am I 24 and only playing my first season of AFL" Kelly racked 'em up for 112. Kane "baaaaaa" Lambert, Jack "massive disappointment except for a coupla weeks" Billings and James "when I was traded Gisborne didn't even know I was a forward, let alone a forward who could ton up" Harmes all raised the bat for the Grenades forward line.

Banchang were far more disappointing, with only a few shining lights. Tom "my name should be spelt dooday" Doedee defended stoically with 112, ably assisted by Taylor "family (author's note: this is a bit of a stretch but I hope you get it)" Adams with 107. Mitch "so glad he moved from Carlton" Robinson was the high note for the Barcrawlers with 120 on an otherwise dark day. 2 metre Peter going down with an injury shouldn't affect next season too much but ended the season on a sour note. Also, how Jarrod Lyons doesn't get a game for Gold Coast is absolutely beyond me.

    Banchang snap season review
After starting the year 1-4, it was looking like a long year for the Barcrawlers. Then, suddenly, it all turned around, and they went 5-0 through the middle of the season and looked like finals contenders. At 6-4 after 10 games the coaching staff would have surely been hopeful of a second ever finals birth, but it wasn't to be, as the wheels dramatically fell off the train. The Barcrawlers went 1-6 in the last 7 rounds, a Blanchetown-esque performance (but not quite as bad, sorry @martyg). Injuries to Higgins and Suckling, coupled with Lyons' non-selection over the final weeks, certainly didn't help. They will be glad to have picked up Doedee, and the continued improvement of Greenwood will also provide some positivity over the summer.

    Nice work @Tomster

Can we retroactively get that Brayshaw trade vetoed!? Surely something about that trade wasn’t in the “spirit of this competition” ;):thumbsu:

Lyons can’t get a game for the same reason the Blowflys Barlow and Ainsworth can’t - GC might actually win another game if they play! That’s the last thing they want - got their eyes on pick 2 & 3 next draft to start the rebuild! AKA tanking!

Yeah they're a big chance to knock off Richmond next week, with those 3 playing...NOT, and they won't beat Brisbane if they start now, nor will they beat Geelong at home in the last game. and Ainsworth was injured.....might be right for this week though, and with Lynch going they already have 2 and 3. And Barlow will be de-listed at season's end.

EDIT: If Barlow is not de-listed, he will be used in the NEAFL as an experienced old head to look after the Academy kids coming thru.He would need to accept that though.
I can't see him playing AFL at the Suns next year.

From the 2016 MSD trade thread:

"Trade 12: Angus Brayshaw & MSD 15 (Korumburra) for Jarrad McVeigh, MSD 2 & 2nd Round PSD (Gisborne)"
(Filling in the blanks, Brayshaw + Talia for McVeigh + Cox + Gallucci)

If you hadn't delisted McVeigh, it wouldn't have been the worst trade! Plus, Cox and Gallucci are still yet to fully realise their potential. Ahhh, the benefits of hindsight! If you'd asked me at the start of this season, I would've rated this as a failed trade for the Grenades even though I was bullish on Brayshaw. Wouldn't it be interesting to go back and review all of the trades we've made over the past seasons, maybe find who is consistently getting the best deals?

Also, just to clarify my remarks in the match report above, the veto comment wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, more just noting how opinions and views can change relatively quickly.
