2018 Finals Series Gentlemen, we need to arrange our finals series, so that we can post it into the TSL fixture and monitor. The finalists are: Ararat @insider Southern Cross @eagle_eyed Christmas Island @DamoH Groote Eylandt @YAD69 Nuytsland @bryzza Korumburra @Mick Serengeti @wrightbrendan Staghorn Flat @tyze1 So, as quickly as possible, we need each coach to nominate who they'd like to face off against in week 1 of the finals. First up, Ararat @insider please make your selection and let it be known in the post below.
Rematch of what pal? have you ever made a finals series before? No commish, was just overseas and busy The Armadillos are set to take on the might of the Buffalo. For the sole reason that i own his draft pick and im filthy he made the finals in the first place, I select the honourable member from Serengeti, Mr @wrightbrendan Now it's over to the best thing that's come out of the west since a Margaret River Cab Sauv, @eagle_eyed
Love the reasoning @insider In the 2nd Quarter Final the Southern Cross Sandgropers will take on @tyze1 's Staghorn Flat Bulls at the Sandpit. Over to you @DamoH
Dear @bryzza Would you like to come to my house this weekend and play football? I have a red ball and a yellow ball and a ball with a picture of a Tiger because they are my favourite and best team. I like Dustin Martin, he has pictures on his arms like some of the men my mummy says my daddy might be. After the game we can have cookies and cordial (not the red type because my mummy says I'm not very nice when we have the red type and that's why we don't have a cat anymore). Your friend Damien P.s. Please leave your Tom Mitchell and Brodie Grundy action figures at home, they're scary.
Dear Damien, I would love to come over and play with you at your house. Mummy say's I can only play for a few hours as last time I was so tired due to the intense nature of our games. Daddy says I must bring Mitchell and Grundy as they have been protecting me all year, especially from large men with tattoo's who like to shove. Buddy's forever Bryan P.S sorry about your cat
@bryzza ..........whatever you do, don't let him talk you into looking for his cat in his cubby house in the back yard.........
Ok, that was so much more painful than the losers final, and you mob went of on a much larger tangent... but it was funny, thanks @DamoH and @bryzza So, week one of the 2018 ORFFU Finals is: Ararat v Serengeti Southern Cross v Staghorn Flat Christmas Island v Nuytsland Groote Eylandt v Korumburra Good luck to all teams.
Early doors at the Sandpit and it’s the Sandgropers leading @tyze1 ’s Bulls by 173 points SCS - 243/3/81 SFB - 70/1/70 Go ‘Gropers!!!
The Barracudas haven’t got there yet and the Blowflys have made a start 219/3 73 @Mick Tipu with 5 goals, the locals thought they were still practicing but not they all count
Riewoldt’s 220 is slightly disappointing given that I was low-key rooting for an Ararat Korumburra GF purely from a coaches rivalry perspective
@tyze1 ’s visiting Bulls have hit back to take the lead by 53 points. Huge scores from Lobb (150) and ex-Sandgroper Whitfield (130) have turned the tables on the home team. SCS - 847/11/77 SFB - 900/11/82 Tomorrow’s matchups sees McVeigh, Cunnington, Wallis & Crozier needing to outscore Salem, Jetta, Hill & Lang by 54 points for Southern Cross to progress to the semis. Go ‘Gropers!!!
The Barracudas are on 859/10 85.9 to the Blowflys 896/9 99.5 @Mick Ablett has kicked on while JRoo has bagged 10 goals to cover for the injured Stanley for the Cudas. Blowflys are in the box seat atm with SDThompson, Gold member, Dunkley, Walters, Hewett & Darcy. The Cudas have Lloyd, Corn Boy, the Bont, Waite & Lewis. Could be a close finish or it could be a blowout
The Bulls and Sandgropers have played some corkers over the years, the upset is on the cards as a Sunday shoot out awaits! The Sandgropers will regain the lead during the Roos North clash with the Bulls trying and chase down the margin in the final game of the round with Hill & Lang in the West. A nervous day awaits!
The crowd is being treated to an absolute belter at Flying Fish Cove Park, with the Smugglers slightly in front at 19/30th time, 983/11(89.4) to 702.5/8(87.8). Heppell is the stand-out for the home team so far with 137, while Seb Ross’ 152 has been the best for the visitors. The Vikings’ much lauded forward line of Heeney, McLean and Petracca is about to go to work, with the Smugglers relying on Blues veterans (always a dangerous spot to be in) Simpson, Kreuzer and Daisy to see them home. It’s squeaky bum time @bryzza
