Round 4, we beat the Lefties, a couple of years ago that was a feat, now it's called turning up Votes Round 4
It's clear to me if I can retain the right medical staff I can do this ORFFL (Knightriders) 1020 from 12 at 85 avg ORFFA (Misfits) 910 from 11 at 83 avg ORFFF (Avengers ) 1397 from 14.5 at 96 avg The IKR squad is really young, deliberately traded out experience to get kids and picks so most of the outs haven't been in yet really, happy with where it sits atm The Misfits squad is also really young, but has been 3 years longer in rebuild, almost all the outs are best 15 and seriously impacting scoring, hopeful of getting most back by round 8 and should scare the crap out of the top 4 without actually winning anything. The Avengers desperately needed a tweak after the initial draft found us with a couple of holes, last year became a "reset" and this year feels much more promising. Addicts (The Who Dats) 813 from 8 at 102 (completely different format so not comparable) /rambling intro WANTED Club Doctor, Physio, Nurse (maybe two) & empaths. Wages commensurate with outcomes, or legs
Combined Round 5 & 6 B&F update. Still can't fill a team but have stumbled to 4 and 2, so winning despite ourselves
The Misfits continue their up and down season, almost half the squad out injured or still in development has sat us back in the midlle of the pack and frankly lucky to be that high. Round 7 and we went down to @TerryinBangkok 1141 to 1194 despite being able to field a legitimate ruck for the first time since round 1. Best and Fairest update:
No shame in that. Just like the Giants, you will bounce back soon enough. Noticed your tipping was pretty miserable as well
Round 9, 14 men only, but only becaused I missed Murphy's in managed 1226 which was just enough to overcome the rapidly improving Lilacs who scored 1111. Laird still in front on 88, but Smith, Taranto and Lloyd all sitting just behind on 81.
Significant unexpected changes at the Bar during the MSD period to date; 1. We did a pick exchange with the Blimps to trade in a preseason target in Joel Garner, he'll do wonders for our attack 2. We then did another pick exchange with the Cods to trade in Nathan Vardy looking for some much needed ruck depth 3. We then did the unthinkable and traded to the Cockies Rory Laird, our current B&F leader (3rd place last year) and the current leading defender for a package of lesser items that should provide overall improvement to the squad; Tom Hickey, Hugh Greenwood and the Cockies 1st and 2nd round PSD picks for next year. 4. This left us with way more players than anticipated and forced another 2 trades, Worpel to the Lefties and Keays to the Packers each gaining us a 3rd round PSD pick in return. 5. We then were forced to delist Nathan Vardy, Gryan Miers and Jamie Elliott All that trading left us with rather average picks in the MSD, 16 and 48, which we used to draft Matt De Boer and reselected Jamie Elliott. Currently holding the following PSD Picks for 2019; 1MBM, 1GWC, 2MBM, 2GWC, 3MBM, 3LLL, 3WBP Our new squad looks like this; Defenders; James Aish (DM), Daniel Rich, Zachary Williams, Adam Tomlinson, Nick Haynes, Joel Garner, Jimmy Webster, Jake Lloyd Midfielders; Hugh Greenwood, Marc Murphy, Matthew Kennedy, Stefan Giro, Josh Kelly, Lachie Whitfield, Callan Ward Forwards; Jamie Elliott, Devon Smith, Orazio Fantasia, Joe Daniher, Matt De Boer, Oscar Allen, Daniel Venables, Caleb Daniel, Tim Taranto (MF), Rucks; Matt Flynn (RF), Patrick Ryder, Tom Hickey, Billy Longer Weaker down back, but more stable through the mid and ruck lines, and very well placed at this early stage for the next draft.
Back from the Byes and a 150 pt increase to 1363 wasn't enough to get us over the line against a rampaging Hoopers
Round 13 and we managed a narrow win over the Cockies, keeps the season hopes alive, but feels like false hope..
Round 14, poor performances/injuries in round across the lines meant a paltry 1200, nowhere near enough to beat @Fitzy 's 1523, fully fit and functional we've only hit that number once so probably didn't cost us much. Top 5 in the Cementhead Trophy for 2018 all with a genuine chance to take it out at the end of round 17.
Round 15 and 1371 saw a comfortable over the rebuilding spelunkers 1062, 1371 should have been 1463 but the match committee didn't believe the Drs and left Webster on-field without cover, turns out they weren't bullshitting. Twelve points separating the top 5 with 2 rounds to go, "Anybodies to win"
Final round, had to win to make finals and managed to do so, also the Misfits have a new Cement Head medal winner
Finals week one, genuinely lucky to scrape a win over Gariwerd, but we've had enough bad luck this year so we will gratefully accept some of the other kind
Semi finals, we went in expecting to be beaten soundly, but luck and some unusual scores went our way giving us a 30 point win over last years Premiers coached by @graeme the Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles. Jake Lloyd continuing his home and away form has a 12 point lead over Deven Smith with Callan Ward 3 points back. Can Lloyd add the Lenny Hayes Medal to his 2018 Cementhead Medal? Finals Series MVP Progress in the Lenny Hayes Medal
Likely they will rest Ryder, but you should get Kelly back. Somehow I feel you have already had your most satisfying win.
