I typically target pick ranges for a draft, ie in this range I can get this guy or that guy and try to build a pick chest to match.
Yad wants a second rounder, I don't want to draft with pick 104.
So I deliberately chose a pick/player combo that should give him what he is after, whilst getting a later pick back keeps me in an area of the draft that I want to be. It was simply pure genius to use someone elses pick :p
Like any bid it is then excepted or rejected, if rejected it's then up to me to decide if I offer a better player/pick combo or request a different pick back as change. so a bid alteration not a negotiation, Yad can't alter his asset on sale, but I can alter my bid for it.
I do have a concern that it's quite late in this auction for rule changes, I didn't think I was changing one (in anyones mind) when I bid.
But looking back at my notes I have a player for 29 so will not be correcting my bid regardless :)

An additional later pick is a dead pick to me as it will most probably not get used & I don't know if I could trade up the draft order with it so reserve not met @TheTassieHawk

No change at this auction unless pick round one was the currency with the player being put up.

Moving from pick rnd 6 to 5 and late pick rnd 3 to early rnd 3 is just equalizing the picks to make the gap smaller (I.e. cost).

Perhaps my auction advertising wasn't clear, or my guidance two bids ago on what could get these players on the market. Or perhaps my bias assessment is too skewed or maybe 90+ average disappears the next year when your age goes past Logan's Run.

    Anyway, reserve not met.

Can I find out if this is accepted before I place a bid?

Sniping yourself seems odd, too little too late. My guidance previously was the starting point not the end point.

    Reserve not met, auction closed.

The Fugitives place the following developing forwards up for separate auctions

    • Brayden Crossley
    • Oscar McInerney

Looking for picks - offer would need to improve on Pick 93 to be considered

Auctions to close 20 Feb 9pm

    AUCTION
Black Swamp is putting up a package of 30yo Cale Hooker (Ess) and PSD pick 69 (Round 5)

    Cale Hooker – DEF - 2007 AFL Pick 54 - 175 career games
    - 2017 prospectus page 120, 2018 prospectus page 117, 2018 prospectus page 117
    http://tooserious.net/forum/player_career.php?id=95&pcid=50136&name=Cale Hooker

    2017 D/F- 20@79
    2018 F - 22@78
2019 – back to playing full time as a defender per the role for the Bombers in 2018

The buyer will be getting an ageing but proven high 70’s to mid 80s average SC defender with great durability (only 2 SC games missed over last 5 non WADA suspended seasons). Depending on your teams strength he could be a D2-D4 option for a knockdown price.

In return I am seeking a PSD draft pick that elevates me up the PSD order – a pick in the 30's will 100% see reserve met but feel free to offer a lower pick early on and try your luck.

MSD pick/s or draft pick packages (preferably 2 picks only) might work.

Given that there is a 5th Round pick as part of the auction I will not be accepting bids requiring me to add any additional picks to the auctioned package except in the unlikely event that a PSD 1st Round (top 12) pick is part of the offer.

Auction ends 10pm Wednesday 20th February (ie after the Fugitives auctions close at 9pm).

thanks for the rapid follow up bid @leematty1
A fraction closer, unfortunately a top 6 calibre ORFFF team most likely means MSD pick 27 to 32 so the bid is still short of reserve.

I wouldn't mind being tagged in these posts so much if I wasn't then also tagged in every reply I don't care about or have any relevance to.

Apologies @Len, clearly not my intent when I tagged, thought the tagging would only trigger for my posts not quoted replys but have now removed them

Opinion only, and a debate for another thread @leematty1
