Auction Item: 28 year old Collingwood Ruck/forward Jordan Roughead and PSD pick 53 During his past three seasons Roughead has averaged about 70 points per game, he does provide some versatility by being a ruck/forward however being at a new AFL club in Collingwood it is difficult to judge what his job security will be like. In exchange I am seeking a draft pick, whilst my preference is for a pre-season draft pick I will consider a mid-season draft pick. Finishing time: 10pm on Wednesday 6th March
Thanks for the bid @Lenny120 I am looking for a bid that will improve Cradle Mountain’s draft position in 2019 with the club having four selections in the PSD and two selections at the MSD. Your bid for Roughead and PSD pick 53 is likely to improve the Devils second selection in the MSD with the Wombats having finished five places lower on the ladder last year and the Devils having increased their focus on the present during the off-season so I would get an improvement in the second pick I take to the MSD. On the flip side CMD’s fourth selection at the PSD would fall by 31 spots from pick 53 to pick 84. The Cradle Mountain recruiting team would rather use PSD pick 53 and the Devils 2nd round MSD pick than PSD pick 84 and Wagga Wagga’s 2nd round MSD pick so reserve not met.
Thanks for the bid @snoz Bid is likely to improve a Devils MSD pick by about 1 round given that I expect the Devils and Hoppers to be close on the ladder at the MSD. A Devils PSD pick drops 17 spots from 53 to 70. Borderline whether it improves CMD's draft position and the bid doesn't place much value on the ability to handcuff Jordan Roughead to Brodie Grundy in the ruck. Reserve met, just.
@Lenny120 Frrom the OP: "7. As soon as practical after receiving multiple bids on an asset the seller should indicate whom is in front, any reasoning is optional." You've been very open about your reasoning for rejecting bids to date; I hope that continues. I'll be very interested to read about your take on Mr Watts' misdemeanours if you consider Fitzy's bid to be superior.
If beams was a bit more of a spring chicken and/or a top 5-10 PSD pick, id very highly consider. Doesn’t meet reserve though but good bid.
Sorry mate missed this, but just not quite the established player I’m looking for in Papley. Appreciate the bid though
Thanks for the updated bid @Lenny120. Not much separates the Hoppers bid and the Wombats bid. The Wombats PSD pick is nine picks higher whilst the Hoppers MSD pick would end up nine picks higher if both teams maintained their 2018 ladder position in 2019. As the Devils have three PSD choices in four picks from 47 to 50 I place more value on getting a second pick in Round 1 of the MSD and prefer the Hoppers bid so @snoz remains in front.
With a bid five minutes before the close of the auction @Lenny120 has moved ahead of @snoz. The Wagga Wagga Wombats receive Jordan Roughead and PSD pick 53 from the Cradle Mountain Devils who in return receive the Wombats Round 1 mid-season draft selection and PSD pick 61.
