Please keep this thread for draft posts only, discussion and trade talks etc continue to be done in the existing thread, I will move any posts that don't contain a pick.

The applicable rules to this draft:

    1. It is a requirement that you draft 6 compulsory picks per year, these can be done all in the preseason draft, or over both drafts.
    - A minimum of 4 of those compulsory picks must be taken in the preseason draft, that is you must enter the 2019 preseason draft with a maximum of 24 players.
    - If you enter this draft with more than 22 players you must participate in the 2016 midseason draft.

    2. Each coach will have 18 hours to make their selection, after which time that turn is skipped, if they have not posted by the time any subsequent picks come up each pick will be given at least 6 hours and then also skipped.

    3. Skipped picks can be taken at any time, please state in the post that it is a skipped pick along with the standard pick info.

    4. Please double check that the player you are selecting is available first. Onus is on the coach to pick an available player, if you pick an ineligible player and subsequent selections are made by other coaches prior to its discovery their selections will stand and you will have to pick from the available pool at the time. Common sense prevails and will be applied by me, as commonly as I can. (Draft sheet should highlight status issues)

    5. If for some reason two people manage to legitimately pick the same player, resulting from timing around a scheduled pick and a skipped pick, the post with the earliest time stamp is the one who keeps him.

    6. At the end of this draft all teams will have a squad of 28 AFL listed players.

    7. Trading is permitted during the course of this draft, only active draft picks within this draft and players within each team can be traded, on a one for one (asset) basis, 2019 MSD picks may be traded freely, use the existing threads to discuss trades and comnpleted trades..

    8. It is strongly recommended that you watch the thread with email activation active, non pick posts will be moved.

Official start time is 7:30PM Melbourne time, Friday 8th March.

All selections are to be posted here in this thread.

When making a selection please make sure there can be no confusion over who you mean, state the selection (pick) number, and ideally the player's first & surname and the AFL team he plays for.

The first tab below is the draft order and results, the second tab is the FA teams and status.
NOTE Michael Gibbons, Matthew Cottrell & Sydney Stack are listed here but not yet in ts, they are draftable

Hi all, @bama has advised he isn't going to be available at draft start time, so in order to maximise the chances of us all getting a shot tonight/tomorrow I am opening the thread for him to pick, and will then close it again until 7.30pm tonight

In unprecedented scenes, the Lefties have held onto their top pick, leaving the hierarchy with the enviable first world dilemma of selecting a player to level all their hopes and dreams upon.

A coin toss sees Larrikin Lagoon go with their heart and name a kid from the Westies Bloods. The same club which saw the coaches' great grandfather and Hall of Famer - WH "Shrimp" Dowling - dominate the competition in the 1920's.

With pick 2 Larrikin Lagoon welcome - Izak Rankine (GCS)

Well I've umm'ed and ahh'ed enough. Swapped between two names here about 10 times. It's probably a bit of a reach, but I like this kid and I'm not back here for a while:

Pick 9 - Ely Smith, Brisbane
