Update from The Stadium. After the 1st break in play, Banchang leads Serengeti by 112 points. And when you consider the Buffaloes haven't arrived at the ground yet, the local Barcrawlers have certainly let a golden opportunity slip by to jump out to a commanding lead. @wrightbrendan
The Hughenden Prairie Dogs team for round 4 is as follows:- Def: Sheppard, Mills, DBJ, McKenzie Mid: Oliver, Shiel, Yeo, Ward (Atkins) Ruc: Smith (Rayner oop) Fwd: Breust, Membrey, Morrison, AMT (Spargo) Int: Duursma Battle (Langford) I was unable to update the emergencies in the team selection page. Only becomes important if someone doesn't play.
Thanks mate. I do appreciate the updates and the report, I just disliked it all because my team decided not to turn up... and because its you!
@DamoH Out at the Swamp just the two players were playing kick to kick. Crocs 80 / 1 Budgie Smugglers 110 / 1
Apologies to @YAD69 for the delay... Round 3 – Groote Eylandt Barracudas 1261 defeated Christmas Island Smugglers 1150 The Island always turns out for a clash with Cudas, and with the Smugglers holding the Island Nations Cup, even the re-opening of the detention centre was knocked off the front page of the local rag this week. However, the locals were “treated” to a slow start from both sides with the first ninth of play resulting in a dismal 188/3 (62.7) to 49/1 lead to the visitors. Wanting to inspire the troops, the Smugglers VC Dyson Heppell was all over the ground – 5 tackles, 5 clearances and 7 score involvements on his way to a CIFC best 125. Unfortunately this lead to the rest of the Smugglers taking it easy, while inspiring the Cudas – especially young gun Patty Cripps, with 13 clearances, 8 tackles and a goal on his way to a BOG 157. Jayden Hunt’s headband toiled manfully in the ruck, but he was always up against it, with Stanley (32 hitouts) giving P. Cripps, the Bont (124 SC) and Zorko (105 SC) first use. Upfront Jamie Cripps (!) was the destroyer for the Cudas, kicking 4 straight and 108 SC (the highest from any forward on the ground). Frustrated with that ridiculous turn of events, and the close attention from Mihocek, Dusty clocked Brody, leaving the Smugglers one short next week. Jake Lloyd did Jake Lloyd things for the Cudas with a lazy 32 possies for 130 SC. Only Hurn for the Smugglers came close to matching him, with the skipper’s 109 closing the gap late in the game. But the Bont’s 34 touches and 124 SC was enough to kill off any thought of a fightback, as the Cudas ran out comfortable 111 point winners. So the Island Nations Cup once again becomes the Eylandt Nations Cup, with the Cudas now holding the all-time lead 4-3 (4-2 in regular season play). Congrats to Groote, simply too good on the day. The Smugglers have made their slowest start to the season in 4 years and things won’t get any easier as, depleted through injury and suspension, they head to Cow Bay to take on the undefeated Crocs. The Cudas meanwhile continue their ridiculously long road trip, heading to Blanchetown. Big Tap Stanley 74 (GEB) over OOP Hunt 42 BAFFU 3 – Cripps 157 (GEB) 2 – Lloyd 130 (GEB) 1 – Heppell 125 (CIS)
And so it begins.......today is the beginning of the Thai New Year Holiday period and luckily @wrightbrendan 's Buffaloes arrived late yesterday..... Still dangerous GENERAL -Forty-six people killed and 482 injured in road accidents across the country on the first day of the "seven dangerous days" of Songkran holiday travel.
De Goey and Libba showed their faces for Cow Bay tonight. Beams poked his head out but freaked out at the sight of the raucous home crowd. Unfortunately for the visiting coach, Beams never trained an understudy for this weekend. A donut takes his place in the mids. Crocs: 271 / 3 Smugglers: 110 / 2
2/9th of the way through the game in Coolgardie, and the home side are leading by 23 points @Tylo Coolgardie 192 / 3 / 64 King Island 169 / 2 / 84.5 Clubhouse leader is J Macrae on 110 points.
Update from The Stadium, as transmitted by the Caretaker, to me sitting here at home, as I don't dare venture out onto the roads during Songkran. Banchang lead the visiting Buffaloes 4-309 to 2-155. Suckling 107 and Adams 90, the main contributors for the Locals, while Langdon 80, and Pick #2 Bailey Smith 75, both helping Serengeti's cause. @wrightbrendan
While tonight's matches are underway the scoreboard out at The Swamp has been updated. Crocs 852 / 10 / 85.2 Smugglers 485 / 8 / 60.6 Crocs currently 367 points ahead
@DamoH Another scoreboard update... Crocs 852 / 10 / 85.2 Smugglers 773 / 11 / 70.3 Crocs 79 points ahead. Still to come: Crocs - Worpel, Gunston, Ceglar, Martin, Acres Smugglers - Geary, Simpson, Smith, Kreuzer Unfortunately Christmas Island will be facing a second donut with the ruck division deciding to head south of Cow Bay and into Port Douglas for some r 'n r. We're tipping a final scoreline in the realm of 1250 to 1050 in favour of the home side.
