Some slight changes to the final squad

D: Tom Langdon, Charlie Ballard, Dale Thomas, Jordan Ridley
M: Zac Merrett, Josh Kelly. Sam Powell-Pepper, Jack Steven
    R: Billy Longer (Brown, oop)
F: Patrick Dangerfield, Jeremy Cameron, Darcy Parish, Allen Christensen (Daniher)
I: Charlie Constable, Bailey Smith (Thomas)

Constable and Steven have swapped positions with T Thomas also moved to the Interchange emergency to cover the Sunday extended squad players.
Daniher will obviously cover Christensen but I clearly had no way of knowing this pre team selection but happy to make changes if it is deemed necessary

So, my original team is in the quote, but without fielding a couple of OPP's I can't make a full 15 (short on forwards).
D Astbury is locked into my DEF E position, and C Brown is locked into a FWD position.

I'm going to put J Smith in as a FWD but he's extended bench and probably won't make the cut.
So I want to swing (ok, don't want to, I NEED to swing) W Hayes from MID E to OOP FWD, but I will likely still be short a FWD if Smith doesn't get up. Does anyone have an issue with me swining L Duggan to OOP FWD, taking D Astbury as my 4th DEF (basically the "loophole", but he only scored 48 points), so that I can get a whole team on the board? I don't have any other players (which is a sad state of affairs!).

    DEF: A Aliir, J Macmillan, J Sicily, XXX - D Astbury
    MID: B Ebert, T Miller, O Wines, T Dumont
    RUC: S Martin
    FWD: O McInerney, C Brown, J Smith, W Hayes (OOP) - L Duggan (OOP)
    INT: J O'Meara, R Clark

    Unavailable
    J Watts, O Fantasia, B Parfitt, J Short, J Aish, H Clark, J Waterman, M Allen, C Coleman-Jones, N Hind, K Mutch, W Rioli

Eden Whalers Round 6 team (Final Iteration):
Def: Crisp, Lester, Williams, Tarrant ()
Mid: Curnow, Pendles, Jones, Atkins ()
    Ruck: Trengove
Fwd: Joyce, Castagna, Papley, McStay (Murdoch)
    IC: Cunningham, Scully ()

    In: McStay, Joyce, Lester
    Out: Jenkins, Clarke, Andrews

I got Trengove as a ruck and he will be one, I also need more forwards but Joyce will do for now.

I don't think what you're doing goes against the spirit/intention of our loop-hole role. My understanding is that it was designed to stop coaches "having a look" at scores from early games and then choosing whether to take them or not.

I agree. My understanding of the loophole is naming a Thursday night player as an emergency and then when naming a full team on Friday putiing a non-selected player on the ground to take advantage of the emergency's score.

I would think you can change the makeup of your team when final teams are named as long as you don't remove or change the positions of anyone that has already played and that you don't name a non-player when you have cattle to fill the position.

I guess the only question you need to answer is... will Duggan score more than 96? If he will then he should stay as a playing defender; if not then move him forward.
