So round 1 is done and dusted.... and an interesting round it was indeed. Vic/Tas sitting at 1004/10 and The Rest sitting well on top at 1115/9 Patrick Cripps went absolutely beserk for the rest polling a 194, a massve 71 points above his average. He was well supported by Danger with a 149. Dangers uplift was offset by Brodie Grundy stinking it up in a big way, and Neale and Kelly were also down on their averages. For Vic/Tas the only good news story was the People's Beard with a 153, but Laird, Houli, Duncan and Pendles were down. There is still a long way to go in this stoush, but at this stage you would be very courageous to suggest that Vic/Tas can pull this one back. the more one eyed amongst us however have not lost hope, and with The Bont, Zerrett, Hurn and co yet to go, there is a chance. Hopes also ride on Sicily having a couple of shockers, as he is prone to do.
Being from Melbs it’s hard to boo the Vic/Tas mob but I’ll take a line from the organizer instead.......Get Stuffed !
Foul Bay carrying the Others at this stage (apart from Crippa of course) We would have been massive in Round 12 with Ziebell going large and our other Geelong players dominating too. It’s a pity that we will wait until first week of ORFFA finals to “regress toward the mean” as has been our pattern the last four years.
This round saw The Others flex their superiority, and flex they did. Jake Lloyd smashed out a 136, Travis Boak a 121, but the real highlights were Jack McCrae with a lazy 150, and Josh Dunkley with a 173 that put Vic/Tas to the sword. It would take a herculian effort to pull this back, and even the most optimistic amongst us (ie: me) think that this is probably beyond Vioc/Tas now. As a collective The Others are a whopping 210 points above the season average, with 6 players hvaing another crack this weekend, including Brodie Grundy who will want to attone for his 86 in Round 1. On the Vic/Tas side of the ledger, in what can only be described as a selection screw up, Vic/Tas named Shannon Hurn in the lineup last week, only for him not to be named in the Eagles team. Whilst being the highest averaging defender, it now puts a lot of stress on Hurn and @anthak's physio's to get him up for the last round of State Of Origin next week. Michael Walters notched up a very respectable 158 but Bachar Houli's 93 will be the best he takes forward. Trying to see the upside, no less than 13 Vic/Tas players are playing in Round 3, so there is a chance we can come from the clouds, but the odds of winning are miniscule. Team scores are below...

Well, that was an anti climax. This years state of origin is done and dusted, with The Rest comfortably winning. Led by an amazing 194 from Patrick Cripps, with Brodie Grundy sealing the deal with a lazy 174 this weekend. Josh Dunkley completed the set with a 173, which made Macrae's 150, Danger's 149 and Lloyd's 136 look fairly pedestrian. For Vic/Tas, the coaches will need to conduct an intensive review of what went wrong, with 5 scores under a hundred, notably Pendlebury's shithouse 71 leading to a 10 minute long chorus of 'Get Stuffed' levelled at club coach @dmandrews .Walters, Gawn, Merrett and Parker were the standouts, but just far too many passengers.
