Korumburra and Hughenden have come to a last minute agreement which sees MSD 16 + 43 + 49 + 67 head to the P Dogs in exchange for their PSD R2 heading the Blowflys way

At the 11h hour Southern Cross send their 1st rnd 2020 MSD pick to @Tylo ‘s King Island in return for pick 8 in the 2019 MSD.

According to the Draft Order as posted by @JPK , pick 8 is listed as a 'dead' pick, as King Island took the option not to de-list a player by the deadline..
I don't think that can be traded, especially after the de-listment deadline has passed.
That will be one for the hierachy to decide upon...

Agree mate, it’s up to the boss. I did check with him and picks are live until the draft officially starts but I’ll wait for his ruling and accept whatever happens.

My take is, if King Island wants to trade his pick, prior to the deadline, then no problem whatsoever. But once he's decided to stay with his squad of 28, and the de-listment deadline has passed, then none of his MSD picks have any value because he can't use them. Which then follows, that no one else should be able to use them.
But, as you stated, it's up to the boss I guess.

If that’s the way the ruling goes then I’m fine with that. In the end these things test rules and set precedents; I’m happy with whatever happens.

I thought a precedent was set on this when myself and @TigersTooTough had a similar trade vetoed last MSD. I thought we changed the rules to close this loophole?

Once the deadline hits that’s it - picks only exist if the club holding them has the list space available to use them.

Looking back through the MSD trade thread from last year these were your thoughts on it at the time -

    Quoting @eagle_eyed

“With regards to the trading of non-live picks, maybe we need to follow the AFL and only take into the draft the same number of picks as list spaces. There should be no issue trading the picks before lists are finalised but once delistments are complete and number of selections are known the non-live picks should be binned and removed from trade conversations.”

I think if there is any grey area remaining on the rules around this we definitely need a clear vote on it ASAP.

In the meantime I think you guys should reverse this trade @eagle_eyed and @Tylo

It would be extremely hypocritical, straight up unfair and clearly very poor form to put this trade through after last years similar trade veto and the subsequent debate.

There’s a big difference between trading a pick prior to the start of a draft and trading said pick once the draft has commenced. Apples and oranges. The clarification made was/is that Picks are live until 08:00 or 08:30 this morning or whenever the draft starts.

We did say that the cutoff was going to be the delistment deadline.
So sorry @Tylo and @eagle_eyed but I'm not going to allow the trade.
Draft order stands as previously posted.

    @Tomster

Gisborne and Serengeti have come to terms on an agreement that sees Dale Thomas head across the ocean in search of premiership glory in exchange for MSD pick 36 plus the 2020 PSD round 3 pick that was originally traded from Serengeti to Gisborne

All the best to Daisy who held up a struggling Buffaloes defence manfully and has well and truly earned his shot at ultimate success

In light of this mornings other goings on I guess it is worth highlighting that Gisborne's pick 36 was active as they had a squad size of 27 before this trade so I believe this is above board?

    Yes, this trade is acceptable.
Serengeti will have picks 17 and 36 in this draft, and Gisborne now have a full complement of 28 players.

The Buffaloes and Bunyips have come to an agreement which sends Ruckman Sam Naismith off to the Serengeti whilst the Bunyips pick up PSD Rd 3 pick and MSD pick 36.
