Heard Island host Port Lincoln in the final round game, and the Shags are pulling out all the stops in attempt to hold onto the 8th spot and sneak into the finals for their first time!

We’ve moved the game away from the usual ground at Try Pot Beach, over to the west of the island to The Nullarbor, hoping the visiting Power team get confused and arrive late.

    In: Tom Liberatore, Brent Daniels, Esava Ratugolea;
Out: Nat Fyfe, Mason Cox, Nick Blakey.

D: Lloyd, LuRyan, BEllis, JMcGovern (BrMaynard)
    M: MCrouch, Swallow, AngBrayshaw, Sinclair
    R: Soldo (BWilliams WCE)
F: Daniels, Neal-Bullen, Setterfield, Ratugolea (Lonie)
    I: Liberatore, Johannisen (Blakey)

    Caarn the Shaggas!

We are on the road against the Avengers @Len in a must win match.

We are also wanting to overtake the Shags @anthak 96 point lead in 2019 total points as we try our best to snatch 8th position so a strong final round team effort is a must.

Some ugly scenes from the likes of Tucker, Short and Cripps has the Glowies on 837/11 vs the roller coaster Neptune outfit on 734/9.

The dynamic ruck duo of the Hybrid Beard still to come but not sure which cape our midfield will wear today. Superman or Greatest American Hero?

I reckon a cape made out of some spare paper towel will see you get home today.

    Super tight finish between 8th & 9th.
I managed to beat @MrsBear by just 9 points, and @TheTassieHawk outscored me but not by enough! Both combined to allow me to sneak 8th spot, for our first finals appearance in the ORFFF!

We’re currently looking into whether we can rush Tom Mitchell back to play finals to give us any chance from here

Thanks mate, and hear hear on the commiserations.

It was a tight run home and a lot of fun over these past few weeks. So close, especially between TTH and myself

Well deserved @anthak and it was good to see you pushed all the way by the Power @MrsBear which was my only hope with a poor week on my team's behalf.

Some interesting matchups including the Shags finals debut against the Noahs @That KI Guy and a replay of the 2017 Grand Final @leematty1 @stowie in the other Elimination Final.

Meanwhile the Avengers @Len tanking strategy has paid the ultimate reward with them securing 2020 PSD Pick 1 following the Bucks @Dale Duivesteyn 2nd consecutive win (which was by their greatest ever winning margin).

Congrats also the Virgins @YAD69 Lachie Neale who managed to hold off the Jan Juc Ducks fast finishing Brody Grundy (who polled 5 votes versus the Virgins) to win the 2019 Dangerfield Medal by 1 vote.

Only because you have gone so young (note observation not criticism) and had more than your fair share of bad luck @Len

The top dozen or so are and will be very good players in the next 5-10 years. Provided the youth develops as expected the improvement of the current list and your first 1 or 2 picks in 2020 will be fairly dramatic within the next 2 seasons.

    One can only hope!
I haven't learnt how to do rebuilds the easy way yet, but I've seen others do it so I know it's possible :)
