With the Marsh Series kicking off on Thursday, here’s our opportunity to discuss this years Rookie options and your report on them.

Here are a few talking points to consider in your assessments:

    - Price
    - Position
    - % Team Selection (SC)
    - Role Being Played
    - Stats (SC)
    - Minutes Played
    - Job Security
    - POD (Yeah/Nah)
    - Over Rated (Why?)

And Rate your top 5 Rookies on each line -

I'm still spewing I that last year I thought Rozee was too expensive and wouldn't produce scores worth having onfield… :(

I'm going one further and declaring both Rozee and Houston as locks

Thanks to all for this great info, very much appreciated. My team is pretty much on a rotating basis atm .

I think he'll play. There's the talk of him having a standout preseason. While that obviously doesn't really mean a lot at least his name has been mentioned. With quite a few of our mids in doubt for round 1 I could see him playing round 1. He played midfield in our practice match vs Collingwood. Not sure how safe his position would be but I think there's a real good chance for him. Worth watching through the pre-season.

I have a feeling he could play a lot but we'll wait and see. I thought Constable would play most of last season.

Marsh, smarsh. Got to have the AFL App to get the numbers - how dumb is that? Never think of people living OS.

He wasn’t too impressive last night! Though the entire cats team looked really really slow and uninterested!

Yep I agree. He looked off the pace. Most of our team did. Kennerley grew into the game but the best rookies were all from Gold Coast.
I liked Sharp and Buderick but not sure how they'd go during the season. As expected Rowell looked comfortable. Anderson was good in moments.

      PORT v’s LIONS:

      Points Of Interest (POI):

      - Rich - 613m gained, 16/5 Kick - H’ball
      - Houston 9 tackles, 10 clearances
      - Zorko 109pts (74% game time)
      - Georgiades disappointing
      - Rooozeee 108pts (57% game time)
      - McCluggage set for Mid boom
      - Boak (own ball) 18 clearances
      - Neal (don’t select at your own peril)

      General:

Port players time managed. Rookies didn’t impress. Don’t be fooled by Motlop, Rozee is a gun (99%) Lock.

      What’s your take away?

Have to agree with you re Rozee, definitely a lock, as is Houston imho
      Neale is a lock too

Like McCluggage yesterday, looks like another upward spike is on the cards for him.
SPP really caught the eye in his new role, and appears to be a bit leaner and covering the ground alot quicker.

Not overly disappointed with Georgiades tbh - have to keep in mind that he is a KPF in his first year (after missing virtually all of 2019) - had he managed to clunk 3 or 4 of those marks he flew for then we would be raving about him (and yesterday's effort was also against a virtually full strength Lions defence) - I actually think it was an ok first effort from an 18yo KPF in less than 50% TOG, but tbh all Port fans are waiting to see Mead play.
Will also be interesting to see if Dylan Williams gets selected in the 2nd Marsh game at the expense of either Cox or Farrell

I’m keen to see Williams play also given his DPP.
I honestly feel as though some rookies will be named Rnd 1 without playing a game.

Footywire is also a good site for stats in the absence of a decent/working AFL site - go to the Supercoach tab and there's up to date preseason scores (not live scores though)
