Here we go folks, time to get this big old ship (not the Diamond Princess) ready to sail! Please ensure you have your player lists up to date, I note there are a few (9) teams tracking at less than 28 players. If you have the enthusiasm, probably wouldn't hurt to throw a provisional round one team in right now as well! In the interests of efficeincy, may as well turn this into the discussion/banter thread... you can all get stuffed, especially you @Fitzy being my opponent this time around. Round 1 – AFL Round 1Date Thursday 19th March 2020 THEME - FELLOWSHIP ROUND As Ezra Taft Benson once said, "the fellowship of true friends who can hear you out, share your joys, help carry your burdens, and correctly counsel you is priceless." Fellowship has been at the heart of the ORFFA since this whole big ride started spinning back in 2012. And Fellowship Round allows us to raise a glass something to our fellow ORFFA coaches and celebrate that we can continue to gather each week through the ORFFA. Most particularly we dedicate this year's Fellowship Round to all of us who have faced health, personal and other challenges over the off-season, and particularly to our friend @That KI Guy and his family, who remain in our thoughts after the devastating bushfires over the summer. I notice @walesy has shafted me and not opened the round yet, so you can't enter a team... get stuffed @walesy!
For me the go signal is when I've read and digested the views of @ChiefRussell on the ORFFA Premiership.
For those of us that have no chance of the premiership, it is merely some high quality material to consume whilst in the smallest room of the house.... it won't change who I pick in my team!
sorry, got excited about the availability of toilet paper at my local supermarket Move on, nothing to see
I like it @Bandit Enthusiasm is infectious and, having just slunk back from the draft of that other mob, enthusiasm is just so refreshing to encounter. And it doesn't hurt to think about your R1 team. A few new faces. Will they get a start or will they prove to be just Marshmellows? If you were super keen, you could go through all the Marsh averages for your team and select your starting lineup on the basis of that. I'm sure Len would have a spreadsheet for it up his sleeve somewhere, or you could just go to FanFooty. I believe R1 will be a split round, so better dust off the rule book before any one attempts blankety blanks..
Thankfully, I think we only have to worry about a Thursday night partial lockout rather than a split round.
Oh Banditto, so sad about your precious hub cap steelers. So close to winning the EPL for the first time. But wait, mathematically still not there. Oh well, there is always next season, or the one after that, or the one after that. Perhaps ORFFA as a consolation prize? I think not. Do we have some plans in place for rounds that don't feature all teams? Should we play through the byes if that is when catch up games get scheduled?
Thanks for your heartfelt concerns @graeme it is in times like this I get comfort from the solidarity that we can display With regard to the ORFFA, given the fluidity of the situation, let's see what Gil announces in the next 48 hours. Of particular concern to me are the statements that the AFL may expand lists to run multiple games per week. Off the top of my head that would mean a) discussion around increasing playing lists (I don't think an increase is required, but there will be discussion) and b) how multiple games in a week works (do we pick different teams for each game or run with one team across multiple games like the NBA/NHL fantasy games do? I am sure there will be many more discussion points as well... let's see what happens in these crazy times. Above all, stay safe people...
We are a go folks... rolling lockout tomorrow night. First round will stay as is, will need to recalibrate rest of the fixture. This is going to be a very fluid season!
If you want me to put a team in just to make numbers up so there are no outsiders Mike I’ll do it, but have done zero study so it will be a virtual auto pick lol
Has anyone else noticed that in tsLeagues that the round 1 match up is not there and when you enter your team the time is 1:09:22:10 Is that 1 day 9 hours It is is Thursday right, working from home I have lost all track of days.
Weird, who uploaded it originally? It was definitely there and needs to be uploaded again until we have a potential revision.. Time is correct due to the rolling lockout for Thursday night
