Cow Bay 1,037 def by Nuytsland 1,277 @bryzza The Cow Bay coach has dropped the ball this year and it showed this week with the team recording a poor 1,037 point effort in a humiliating 240 loss to the Vikings. The home side were a bit of a mess. Ceglar (120) saw the team were in trouble and tried valiantly to lift his team inflicting Grundy's first Big Tap loss in 42 years. McGrath (106) and to a lesser extent Hopper (83) tried to will the group toward goal. Martin (127) ran up the group to help the midfielders out, DeGoey (85) put in a decent effort but Bolton (39) and Bruce (18) spent more time daydreaming than kicking goals. The defensive 4 weren't able to organise themselves out of a paper bag with Noble (64) being the highest scoring defender for the Crocs. The Vikings' coach suffered a scare in the coaches box with Grundy (103) putting in a below par effort. But he didn't need to be concerned, turns out Grundy made a deal with one of the local bookmakers to enrich himself off-field. Crouch (102), Mitchell (96) and Shuey (83) won the ball at will. Heeney (123), Petracca (116) and Tucker (90) ran riot up forward and Viney (136) and English (120) proved more than handy coming off the interchange. It was a quiet day for the Nuytsland defenders, Williams (72) being the top scorer on a day the ball didn't end up in the defensive 50 much. Progress score from the Rd4 clash at The Stadium between Banchang and Eden, where only one team is progressing and it's not the Home team. Eden hit the ground running and their 4 players posted 3 tons (Pendles 150, Crisp 115, Papley 101) and an injury affected 77 from Zac Williams, to have 443 on the board. While this was going on, the Barcrawlers just looked on and said "so that's how you do it". "maybe we'll try that next week" and then proceeded to fumble and stumble their way to 4/269, the only saving grace being Adams with 122. Looking real good for Pick 1 in the MSD..... @HOLKY

Progress score from The Stadium sees the visiting Whalers place all their feet on the throat of their opposition and lead the home team 9/897 to 7/513. They extended their lead in this period of play with sublime efforts from Casboult 126 and the evergreen Ed Curnow 122. I don't think there's any way the Barcrawlers can "crawl" their way back in this one. @HOLKY

Blowflys are sitting on 741/10 74.1 hosting the Barracudas who are on 664/9 73.8 With Tuohy, the Sloan Ranger, Goldy, the Little Master and Menegola the home should get it done over the visitors with Burger, Zorko the Magnificent, Tomahawk, Zurhaar, Berry of the Jarrod flavour and Guthrie hair Cam. Ryder didn't leave the hub so Goldy should run riot and will be that at the Terrordome @Mick

Eden have run out worthy winners over Banchang at The Stadium with a final score 1292-1204. @HOLKY The Barcrawlers tried hard in the last stanza to bridge the gap with Higgins 141 Robinson 139 and Lyons 116 all tonning up, but with only 13 1/2 players available, and the shortened quarters, it was to no avail. We might need to have a word to Thai Immigration and get The Blowflys placed in quarantine, to give us a chance.
In what was mostly a dour, lacklustre, low scoring affair at the Terrordome, it ended up going down to the wire in what was an exciting last quarter. The Blowflys must've been reading their recent puff pieces as they relaxed with a handy lead and took their foot off the gas in the final stages which let the visiting Barracudas right back into the game. At the 35/36 mark, it was the visitors from Groote Eylandt who had stuck their noses in front in a valiant come back - 19 points up with Burgoyne and Zurhaar still active! Luckily for Korumburra, their solitary player remaining was the great big man in the middle Goldstein, who was able to overcome the odds and bring home another victory for the home side.
