Round 7 – AFL Round 7 Date Thursday 16th July 2020 THEME - Muso Round Each year the ORFFA's Muso Round sees the league celebrate the great Australian (and New Zealand) artists that populate our Spotify lists and whose vocals most definitely don't involve any type of auto-tuning. Even better, some of these songs may be played at about 160dB at a future AFL match - most likely at half time as we try to do the unthinkable and engage in polite conversation with friends and family. Thank you, AFL match-day experience gurus. Important announcement that I am going to interject into the teams thread for this week. Given the fixture changes announced yesterday we are going to have to pull the trigger on the MSD now. Only a one day break between rounds 8 & 9. Then 33 matches over 19 days! The ORFFA MSD trade period will commence tomorrow 16/7/20 at 12 noon AEST and conclude 20/7/20 at 9pm AEST. Players traded over this weekend don’t move until the end of the trading period so we don’t have a scoring nightmare, but the trade sticks regardless of injury, players pulling out of the hub over the weekend etc. Given we will go into a lockout Friday night there should be very little issue with that. The ORFFA Mid season Draft will commence 21/7/20 at 8am AEST and conclude by 5pm AEST on 23/7/20. We will have to be short and sharp with this, no tardiness please. So be around, or have a proxy/pick options sent to one of us to pick on your behalf. I will send this out to all coaches shortly via a direct message, and will also update the calendar @Lenny120 @ChiefRussell @jimbowan @TerryinBangkok @Len @DaveH @anthak @bama @graeme @Jen @Tracey @That KI Guy @JC @snoz @Fitzy @TheTassieHawk @dmandrews Yell in the next 24 hours if there are any issues with this
The 10th placed Cradle Mountain Devils Round 7 team hosting the seventh placed Birdsville Battlers. If the Devils win they will leapfrog the Battlers on the ladder, however if the Battlers win they will move two wins ahead of the Devils.

A lazy 204 from Tim English tonight should help the Devils cause, mate. Just one change for the Battlers this week. In a classic case of chasing last week's points, Taberner comes in for Hipwood. D: Luke Ryan, Adam Cerra, Tom Doedee, Luke McDonald (Connor Budarick oop) M: Dom Sheed, James Rowbottom, Adam Treloar, Lachie Hunter (Ryan Byrnes) R: Jarrod Witts F: Bailey Smith, Blake Acres, Gryan Miers, Matthew Taberner (Eric Hipwood) IC: Josh Battle, Ryan Clarke (Harry McKay) While he's only an emergency for the Battlers this week, good luck to Ryan Byrnes in his first AFL game.
Gariwerd vs Mount Beauty In: Tom Rockliff; Jack Steven; Zach Tuohy. Out: Josh P Kennedy; Alex Sexton; Pearce Hanley.
Hoppers to return to their rightful spot on top by the end of this weekend. Picked it like a dirty nose #nexttimeyouwillbelievemewhenisayimnogood
The Nuffers make 5 changes this week to freshen up the side Duursma, Cunningham, Redman, Richards and CCJ replace Clurey, Hill, Brown, Ebert and Long. The first 3 outs are listed as emergencies and are joined by club captain Jaryn Geary who is named as emergency ruck in what is his final game for the club. We take on Iron Knob @jimbowan in what could be an epic contest but our first goal is to crack the 4 digit barrier for the 5th time in 7 games.
The 'hoppers had a down week and only scored 1300 odd, with our injuries and underperformances we could only post 1250 odd. The swarm fly on.
I bet he is, just hope there is a way he can keep coping with the just announced rounds 9-12 giving 20 consecutive days of footy. Luckily the rounds do not overlap. @Bandit the 4 byes in round 10 and 2 byes in round 11 are going to be fun and challenging,
Indeed they will be, @graeme . I'm operating under the assumption that a less than perfect solution is the likely outcome and just hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
There are also 18 rounds - so do we play 17 plus a Grand Final (which should have a regular 9 match week) now ?
In a worse case scenario, is there the possibility that we can manually add up our scores each round, post them here then & then retroactively add them back in ?
Given the propensity of some nations to overstate and exaggerate things, we might need to check some people's scores more than others.
