Yeah I’m not even sure I’ll participate.. could drop Drew but with pick 18 not sure yet if it’s worth it
Keen on some drafting action, I'm in the ORFFF and they are scheduling a draft night and I think that's a much better option for this period than our normal style draft, especially as its an optional draft.
I think go with these dates stripey has with trading being open after last game this round till midnight Wednesday 22/7
In. We need a date for delistment deadline and, if to commence right after last game of 26 July, do we need to know results of that round to determine draft order?
Tomorrow I plan to set up a thread for the MSD and @ address to all in ORFFL. Please recognise that the MSD is optional but we do need to hold it as trades have occurred involving MSD picks. Under my plan the draft will be simple. We are all busy people so in my opinion it is best to simplify proceedings. Should anyone prefer to co-ordinate the MSD under different arrangements that is fine by me; please advise me as a matter of urgency and I will step aside. The full rules for the MSD will be detailed in that thread. Some features, There will be no trading before or after the MSD. Delists will be open until 8pm AEST next Sunday, and to be recorded in the MSD thread. A delist is final once you have posted it. The delayed start will hopefully allow for early dissemination of the arrangements to all in ORFFL. (Perhaps you could forward this to those who pop-in only occasionally.) They will be included in a distribution list in the MSD thread. The MSD will start at 8am AEST on July 27 and will have a three hour time limit per pick before the next pick kicks in. If you miss a pick you can catch up based on the FA list at that (later) time. There is some more detail but that is the gist of the plan. The draft order will be based on the reverse of the ladder after round 7. Over to you guys for comment. Any questions or comments?
Just so I've got it right in my head.... no default picks, instead a person who misses a pick just jumps in at whatever time they can make a selection? So if the person with Pick 3 misses but appears online when its time for pick 7 they can just jump in... I actually like this as an idea. Thanks for taking charge too btw...
Exactly right @stripey - why should you be saddled with what might be a duff pick when the guy you would have chosen is still available. Hopefully, it will keep things moving; if we don't change and adapt .... well ain't seen any dinosaurs recently. BTW, thanks for the vote of encouragement.
We could do draft order based off the ladder at the end of Round 7 if we think there might be a big time crunch, no pressure on Walesy rollover then
Given the second wave of Covid 19 in Australia it makes good sense to kickstart the MSD thread from New Zealand.
Good point @thokash, fits very well with the idea of a simple draft. Any other ideas gratefully accepted. I've been flat out today, so the thread might not be up until tomorrow morning. Sorry about that
Haven't had alerts for this forum since the start of the month for some reason. Will have a look through this arvo
Has it occurred to anyone that now we have byes introduced there will actually be an additional round (Round 18)? Can this be used for a final?
as far as I know we have no idea how the season is being played in this league. I've been working on the assumption its an exhibition carnival
