Holy wowzers @YAD69 absolutely unbelievable score. My eyeballs had to do a double take. Well done mate. Credit
Match report from Pakenham rd 12 v Coolgardie Another barnstorming game at the Parasites virus laden home deck. All the locals were excited to watch a great game on paper between two very well matched teams. Both teams failed to disappoint with a close game being won in the dyeing stages by the Parasites. Pakenham 1229 defeat Coolgardie 1182 The home team was well fueled with big games from Lukosius 135, Noah 126, BrownRow 119, Sidebum 103, Blicavs 102 and I have to mention the big KING 99 after not being named in the original team he managed to stick it up the selectors with a match winning 99. As all other Parasites fwds did stuff all, his score went along way to winning the game. The away team had some good showings from Touk 124, Jaeger bomb 116, Short 106 and Clark 106 but losing Sicily mid match didn’t help and unfortunately Liam Duggan being stuck in quarantine posting a donout completely ruined the chances of the Prospectors pinching a win. Was still a well fought out match from the strong 14 that played. So many evenly placed scores, not a lot either way would change the outcome in this one. Pakenham got lucky again. The Big tap was another great contest with BrownRow 119 taking the honors over McInerney 99 And taking the BOG 3. Lukosius. 2. Noah. 1. Touk (all Gold Coast players) interesting.
Record confirmed. Awesome work @YAD69 !!! 3 of the top 4 all time high scores belong to Groote....scary
Also shout out to @choppers for his score of 1,499 back in round 7 which is the 14th best of all time
Southern Cross Sandgropers 1117/13/86 defeated by @bryzza ‘ s Nuytsland Vikings 1345/14/96. Another round, another loss at the Sandpit, as the Sandgropers limp to the end of the season. Whether it’s through injury or management, Southern Cross have struggled to field either a full or competitive side for the last two months, and have now lost 7 of their last 8 games. This week it was Nuytsland that benefitted from the road trip, when even with a man down, they managed to score 1345. Six tonnes from 14 players compared to 3 tonnes from 13 pretty much tells the story of the match and with the cavalry a fair way off, the Sandgropers could quite easily find themselves finishing the season in the bottom 4. Go ‘Gropers!
Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,180 def Korumburra Blowflys 1,172 In the upset of the round Hughenden beat the league leaders by 8 points. Hughenden entered the game with no ruck and only 14 players to take on the league leader with Yeo a late out with pubic issues replaced by Morrison still left Hughenden with 14 players. It was going to be a tall order to be competitive against the league leaders who had only lost the 1 game entering the contest. The Blowflys dominated the ruck through the efforts of the Golden One (134) but the rest of the team apart from Vlastuin (108) and Menegola (104) the rest of the team appeared to think the game was in the bag. Hughenden had other ideas with the defensive line of Mills (104), Sheppard (107) and Battle (116) repeling attack after attack and with great service through the middle of the ground by Oliver (137) and Shiel (117) they were able to kick Hughenden to victory. The COVID limited home crowd were ecstatic with the win and look forward to travelling to King Island on a high looking for their 6th win of the season whereas Korumburra will need to regroup when they take on Christmas Island at home to consolidate top spot. Big Tap Goldstein (134) BAFFU Awards 3 Oliver, HPD (137) 2 Goldstein KB (134) 1 Shiel HPD (117)
Round 11 - Ararat Armadillos vs Pearcedale Panthers With depleted lineups on both sides, this matchup became a war of atrition. Sadly for the visitors, with no emergencies in site, Ben Brown didnt suit up and cost the Panthers a closer result. There were a few others who maybe shouldnt have shown up with the other three forwards combining for a measly 177, Adam "the only ex-Armadillo who doesnt shaft his former team when playing against them" Tomlinson scraping together a 24 and first year hopeful Schoenberg only 39. Boak tried hard (129) with Brodie smith (105) in support put the Panthers had too many passengers. On the other side of the ledger, Tom McDonald (101) remembered what a sherrin looks like and actually did something, Brayshaw hit a pb with 150 and first gamer Bytel repaid some of the faith we showed in him with a 76 on debut. A Gawn-less Ararat triumphed over Pearcedale 1301 to 1067
Thanks for the updates @YAD69 I dont know what i liked more - the fact that you managed to slip at least one spelling mistake or faux pas into every update, or the fact that i go into the record books as being the biggest loser Both made me chuckle across the round. Congrats pal and thanks for the laughs - most welcomed at this point in time.
Update from The Stadium sees Banchang lead the undermanned visiting Blanchetown 2/187 to 2/123 by 64. Greenwood (109) for the home team starred, while Walsh (98) was at his best for the visitors. @martyg
1/9th time in the Goldfields and its Coolgardie with a narrow lead over the visiting Barracudas from Groote Eylandt @YAD69
Update from The Stadium sees the Barcrawlers forge further ahead from the COVID affected Bunyips and lead the visitors 8/723/90 to 6/413/68.8. But as 4 of those visiting players were laid up in quarantine, and unable to take the field, they are actually 10/413. For the Home team, Lycett (128) came back into form in the Ruck and was ably supported by Dawson (92) down back. @martyg
Buffaloes look to have done enough in an entertaining contest in The Crater Serengeti 1446/14/103 Pakenham 1141/13/88 @ddsaints
