Round 4 – AFL Round 4 Date: Thursday 8th April 2021 THEME - Mark Seaby Memorial Round Draft SNAFUs are fun. Choosing ineligible players, making picks in the wrong order ... all part of the great gigantic fun ride that is the ORFFA. The long-retired Mark Seaby remains immortalised thanks to such a draft SNAFU in our inaugural ORFFA mega-draft. As always, the round named after our favourite draft SNAFU sees Foul Bay take on Birdsville for the draft rights to Mark Seaby's children, his children's children, and those children's children, etc. Nowhere Else Wanderers V Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles Wagga Wagga Wombats V Cradle Mountain Devils Foul Bay Chickens V Birdsville Battlers Charlies Opening Spelunkers V Mount Beauty Uglies Whitsunday Warriors V Venus Bay Vultures Iron Knob Codpieces V Larrikin Lagoon Lefties Marble Bar Misfits V Lovely Banks Lilacs Wineglass Bay Packers V Gariwerd Cockatoos Gundagai Grasshoppers V Nareewillock Nuffers
Not sure if classes as a SNAFU but the Lefties wisely chose Archie Smith with a first rounder. Not convinced he even played a game for us. Now I think of it, there’s probably enough of these comical Lefty selections to write a novel.
I cannot recall having a draft SNAFU, but I do recall drafting more than my fair share of . In fact, this year I planted some agrias that had gone to seed in the hope that the real thing would replace poor draft choices.
Let's face it, a lot of our choices are based on the raw talent we have seen in the lead up to the season. What we have no control over is the teams they are drafted to and the coaches they get. Charlie Constable is a case in point, Cooper and Dylan Stephens are others. MSD is the season for planting spuds.
