Full time out at The Swamp and the Crocs have recorded their first win of the season, taking home the 4 points with a 239 point win. Crocs 1251 / 15 / 78.2 Whalers 1012 / 15 / 67.5 Match report to come......and it will be quicker this time
Final scores from the Horsham vs Southern Cross match. Southern Cross 1,157 from 15 players (77 average) defeated Horsham 1,034 from 13 players (80 average). This was a terrific match up right up until the last game. Though it's fair to say that was a surprise given the number of players available on both teams and their respective ladder positions. The final result was only decided by Nat Fyfe in the final game. BAFFU 3 Votes - N Fyfe (SCS) 133 2 Votes - P Seedsman (HG) 121 1 Vote - J Billings (HG) 120 Golden Tap B Grundy (SCS) 92 points defeated...nobody Next up, Horsham travel to King Island and Southern Cross travel to Serengeti.
As it turns out it was closer than that score listed. I had Riewoldt in the forwards but you listed Cripps. Actual score was 1290 to 1285.
Yeah, bloody close @choppers, I actually move Naughton in for Riewoldt, most probably the moved that won it for me in the end.
Agreed, although Adams going down late in the 3rd, while on 62, sure didn't help my cause any....however, it is what it is.....luck of the draw, roll of the dice etc etc.....I think you know what I mean
Round 4 Cow Bay 1,207 def Eden 1,012 After a listless start to the 2021 campaign, Cow Bay finally recorded their first win of the year with a 195 point win over the Whalers. Being a man down didn't help the Whalers, neither did an out of his depth Casboult playing in the ruck for the visitors. The win buys the Cow Bay coaching panel some breathing space, even if for a week. Although he has gone backwards since last year, Ceglar (66) won the hitouts against and out of position ruck, but it was hardly a convincing performance. This week it was Hopper (111) who stood up in the middle for the Crocs, with Taranto (90) only letting himself down with his disposal. New draftee Heath Chapman (91) starred down back for the home side, as did another draftee Dylan Moore (95). Bolton (111) returned to form as did Zak Jones (101). Although Ed Curnow (132) but in a BOG performance, it was always an uphill battle with McIntosh missing from the field. Pendles (87) and Amon (71) tried, but Casboult (23) wasn't sure what to do. Harris Andrews (121) reminded us how good he can be and young Pickett (85) caused trouble in front of the big sticks. Ham (56) and Cole (55) provided little reprieve off the bench. Big Tap Ceglar (66) def Casboult (23) BAFFU 3 Ed Curnow, Eden, 132 2 Harris Andrews, Eden, 121 1 Jacob Hopper, Cow Bay, 111 The win moves Cow Bay off the bottom of the ladder into 13th, Eden dropped one spot to 14th. Next week Cow Bay visits Groote Eylandt and Eden will be hosting the Smugglers from Christmas Island.
Armadillos vs Prospectors last week in Round 4 It was a great battle in defence with the visitors setting an imposing 410 which could have been more had Duggan not spent significant time on the bench with a broken nail. The depleted Armadillo backline wasnt up to the challenge set by Coolgardie, but got close with 402. Midfield was underwhelming for both sides with 292 (yes from 4 players!!) home and 379 away. Touk Miller (132) overtouk Jayden Short's 125 from the backs. It was the forwardline which really let down coach @JPK with a meagre 210. In stark contrast the home team's forwards actually showed up for once and put together a respectable but not exceptional 363. Finally the news that had both women and men weeping, double McDonald barely lasted a quarter. With Luke tearing a pec, he adds to the clubs already long list of best-15 players on the sidelines. Triumphing through adversity of a single McDonald, Ararat defeated Coolgardie 1288 to 1250.
So you didn't want a double big mac with cheese after all Larkey's 88 on the pine, with Vandermeer's 22 onfield really let me down. The last-minute shuffle of Aish to cover Parfitt's broken finger nail also didn't help any. I was secretly hoping Gawn had an absolute stinker - especially because my SC team ended up with captain Grundy, while most opponents went with VC Dunkley or Captain Gawn.
Round 4 Buffalos @ Pearcedale The score in this match was Panthers 1124 def Buffalos 1093. After 2 weeks away from home the Panthers were excited to get back on their home deck and hopefully get back that winning feeling. "Wo-ooh, that winning feeling" for it has "gone, gone, gone". Unfortunately it was a mixed bag early for the home team with Parker smashing out a 150 but Hewett delivering a paltry 26. Meanwhile Ridley feasted on 15 odd kick outs to deliver a 124 for the visitors who along with Merrett and Parish built a strong early lead. For those joining us late the score in this match was Panthers 1124 def Buffalos 1093 Both teams traded blows during the middle quarters however despite an unfortunate early exit from Steven May the Buffalos turned for home with a handy lead and could have been forgiven if they started to think about a post game beer in the rooms. Little did they know that beer was about to turn into sour milk. It is highly likely that the Buffalos didn't put much thought into Sean Darcy at the start of the game, after all the man looks like one of his legs is about to fall off at the knee at any moment but it is fair to say that they had nightmares about him on Sunday night. The big fella went on a tear, delivering a massive 129 to drag the home team over the line and celebrate a memorable come from behind victory. The song was sung with gusto and big Darc got the gatorade shower from the boys. In summary the score in this match was Panthers 1124 def Buffalos 1093
