Round 12 – AFL Round 15 Date 24.06.2021 THEME – Buyer’s Regret Round Regrets. I've had a few. Who among us hasn't drafted a player only to realise soon afterwards that maybe, just perhaps, that decision may have been made in error? Who among us hasn't traded for a player who has ended up not entirely living up to expectations? Well, this post-MSD Draft round is the round to celebrate all our regrets as traders, drafters and ORFFA coaches. Welcome to Buyer's Regret Round and feel free to nominate your biggest drafting or trading regrets. Gundagai Grasshoppers V Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles Nareewillock Nuffers V Wineglass Bay Packers Gariwerd Cockatoos V Marble Bar Misfits Lovely Banks Lilacs V Iron Knob Codpieces Larrikin Lagoon Lefties V Whitsunday Warriors Venus Bay Vultures V Charlies Opening Spelunkers Mount Beauty Uglies V Foul Bay Chickens Birdsville Battlers V Wagga Wagga Wombats Cradle Mountain Devils V Nowhere Else Wanderers
The Lilacs regret is Tyson Stengle, he could of been anything, instead he was nothing and also had a lot off field issues going on.
Far too many to mention, but Jarrod Pickett probably top of the list, Round 1 draft pick who did bugger all, get stuffed Provisional Spelunkers team
Cradle Mountain Devils Round 12 team Out: L Brown (omitted), T Nankervis (knee), L Breust (omitted) In: T Duryea (new), C Mayne (new), R Marshall Def: D Rich, J Lever, N Vlastuin, T Duryea (M O’Connor) Mid: J Steele, J Hopper, D Heppell, S Pendlebury (H Cunningham OOP) Ruc: T English Fwd: D Zorko, A Naughton, T Membrey, R Marshall (L Breust) Int: J Redden, C Mayne (G Rohan)
But then again, too few to mention. My major buyer regret would be not buying sunscreen with a high enough SPF. As to players, well, have to say it's been a pleasure nurturing them at the Bulls Hit. But that would be PC nonsense. Pretty easy really - Josh Bootsma.
@Len - Orazio Fantasia appears as an emergency in Matchday teams. Is there a way to amend that to reflect he is now a Vulture?
Yup, anyone who dropped or a traded a player that was previously "onfield" in the last playing round will need to clear and re-enter their team. This will fix all anomolies we know of. Also, Max Lynch is in both the Hoppers and the Cockies, and odd player to be in such high demand me thinks
I found this from 4 years ago, pretty hard to top so will let in get another airing; For this week, the men girdling themselves to take on the might of the Gariwerd nuisance; ("What is a group of cockatoos called?" The proper term for a group of cockatoos, as defined in the Macquarie, is "a bloody nuisance.") DEFENDERS Jake Lloyd, Lachie Whitfield, Caleb Daniel, Nick Haynes - Zachary Williams MIDFIELDERS Josh Kelly, David Mundy, Rory Sloane, Tim Taranto - Callan Ward RUCKS Nic Naitanui FORWARDS Lincoln McCarthy, Tom McCartin, Jayden Laverde, Will Hayward - Kieren Briggs INTERCHANGE Tom HICKEY, Matthew Flynn - Lachlan Weller
I regularly lament the 2014 preseason draft. I had picks 9, 12 & 14, and I thought I was gonna be able to set myself up for the future. I badly wanted Matt Crouch and I thought I’d get him at 14, which I did, and I’m fairly happy with that pick. 9 was Matty Scharenberg, who hasn’t performed well, but he was a good trade asset for me and I got a fair return from trading him. Pick 12 is what I regret badly and I’ll never forget. I was choosing out of Dayle Garlett and Marcus Bontempelli. I chose Garlett and he never played a game for the club. If I hadve had the Bont all these years I reckon my team performances might’ve been a bit better just from his contributions.
Yeah @TerryinBangkok I am very thankful that I was able to select Dayne Zorko for the Cradle Mountain Devils late in the inaugural ORFFA Draft in 2012. At the time of drafting Zorko with pick 325 in the 19th round the then 23 year-old forward/midfielder was yet to make his AFL debut but had won four consecutive best and fairest wards for the Broadbeach Cats at State League level in Queensland. Zorko made both his AFL debut with Brisbane and ORFFA debut with the Devils in Round 7 of the 2012 AFL season which was the first ever ORFFA round and he has been a fixture in the Lions and Devils line-ups ever since however neither team could have anticipated the impact Dayne ‘The Magician’ Zorko would make. In nine out of his 10 AFL seasons Zorko has averaged more than 95 supercoach points per game with the exception being 83 points per game in 2013. Zorko is easily the best value draft selection Cradle Mountain has ever made and he would comfortably be the Devils second best player in the first 10 seasons of the ORFFA behind the number one pick overall in the inaugural ORFFA draft in Scott Pendlebury. After Round 15 of the 2021 AFL season Zorko is averaging a career-high 113.7 supercoach points per game as a Fwd/Mid and given his forward eligibility is CMD’s most valuable player in 2021.
Not so much a review, but rather a few words on the weekend's games - http://tooserious.net/forum/threads/orffa-round-12-review.90943/
