Question to the masses.......with SC doing updated dpp positions every six weeks, are we going to adopt
these positional changes as well during the season ?

We sure are. or at least I hope we are! Fyfe as a forward, yummy! But seriously, it may be too hard to not accept SC changes as they occur. Players will not lose DPP, only gain the change.

Walesy has indicated that the site Stats page will pick up position changes each week at rollover.

If this is the case then Stats will always be up to date provided the SC changes are made as part of their lockout/rollover processes.

If instead SC updates positions BETWEEN rounds it makes it more difficult and may introduce a weeks between a player getting dpp and it flowing through to the site.

I guess each comp needs to make an interpretation of whether adopting SC positions means adopting positions as at the start of the season or adopting SC positions including any changes through the year.

If one or more comps prefer the lattter, Walesy would most likely have to code an over-ride for any comps who do not wish to include positional changes.

Hence from my perspective this would be a case where hopefully the comps form a concensus position in order to make it easier for the TS Site Admin, in what is likely to be a difficult year if there are ongoing fixture changes.

For simplicties sake I suggest we utilise the positions once updated in ts, if that's delayed by a round due to update timing so be it

Agree 100% with Len's comment above on updating player positions in ORFF* comps.

The Cradle Mountain Devils aren’t looking to acquire any more players before the PSD but will need to delist several players to get down to the maximum squad size of 22 players.

    Players available from Cradle Mountain:

    Mark O’Connor, defender/midfielder
    Taylor Duryea, defender
    Robbie Tarrant, defender
    Gary Rohan, forward

    The Devils currently have PSD picks 15, 33, 38, 51, 69 and 87.

Any of the above four players can be acquired in exchange for CMD upgrading a late PSD pick or a late future PSD pick.

Oh boy. Hmmm, looking at the new positions for players I'm going to be shedding some defenders and looking to acquire a forward or two. I'll go through the list later on and post an updated list of wares.

Has there been a recent update on positions, or do you mean the ones set a couple weeks ago?

The Nuffers have too many defenders, which would be OK if we could field 12 of them each week. It would help stop the opposition scoring.

Regrettably, none of that can happen so we are looking to perhaps trade a couple of the following names (and accompanying players) to greener pastures.

    Ben Long D/F
    Chayce Jones DEF
    Andrew McPherson DEF
    Charlie Lazzaro F/M

I like these guys but am resigned to maybe losing some. Most are pretty young too.

Obviously, can't trade all of them - but if there's any of interest we're open to offers ... preferably picks given we have a chasm between pick 42 and pick 90 something in the upcoming draft (and picks seem to be the norm now given the greater number of delistments required) but would also express interest in a forward if a suitable trade could be reached.

Aaargh! Indeed. Will trust and wait.

Now that SC has adopted reviewing positions every so often based on heat data, will this affect Stats?

Edit: My bad - thought you were referring to players who have changed clubs, etc. that Stats has yet to catch up with.
If AFL Fantasy is any indication they usually trumpet it mid-week. Pendles likely to be first cab off the rank.

Not all will be delisted, Martin the least likely at this stage.
Let me know if keen on any of them, prices aren't high.
