This is the thread for draft banter and place to whine and vent when another coach selects the player earmarked for your next pick, however far away ! The actual preseason draft thread is over at http://tooserious.net/forum/threads/2022-orfff-preseason-draft.91137/ The 2022 ORFF Free Agents list (sorted by 2021 average) is at http://tooserious.net/forum/stats.p...gueTeamId=FA&tsLeagueId=14&sort=ave&desc=desc
With Drouin drafting Nick the 29ers are hoping that it will build a future rivalry with the Dropbears, given Josh is one of the more senior members of our playing list.
the draft is moving really well, so I hope this doesnt put a mozz on us, but I just had to look this up and thought I'd place it here for ease of access:
Rioli, Coleman, Brodie appears to be the start of the Free Agent selections, always an interesting time of the draft to pick which order the younger ones will go in before the veterans also begin to appear on the draft board.
They were 1,2,3 for me as well in terms of established players. Hard to pass on Sinn and Wanganeen-Milera though, super value at those spots.
Yeah same with me I liked those 3 and would have preferred a forward over defender, but it's likely they all wont be forwards next year anyway so just decided to go with the Sinner!
100% single season as forwards and then they are all DEF, just like most of our squads had happen this offseason!
Is it just me or is this draft going extra slow this year? 3 Days and we are barely out of the 1st round. At this rate, we'll be starting by round 3!
The draft technically started at 10am on 1st March, so we've only been going for roughly 28 hours 'on the clock'. I thought we've been moving fairly well so far.
looking back, since the draft technically started, and apart from Len overnight, the longest we've waited for a pick so far has been for the current one, which has been about 4 hours so far. The next most was 3 hours by Stowie (which isnt long), and most others have been well under that. That's pretty good drafting imo.
usually people can post their picks prior to the draft, but there is no time limit enforced until the official start time.
Compared to the other TS keeper leagues we have been motoring, I expect us to hit a few slow patches at some point but am glad I have cut back to a single league as it allows me to use time between picks to have a few options ready to go.
Hopefully @Darran is able to post his pick soonish though. The auto-pick is set to kick-in overnight. Be good to get a few more picks done this evening.
Damn, I was hoping he'd be there at 29. But at the same time, Im surprised he didnt get selected earlier!
