Cool well I don't want to hold up the draft too much and since nobody else has offered an opinion yet guess I'll just lock it in, and if its a problem deal with it later
That rule doesn't exist in this league afaik, if there is a precedent either way I'm not aware of it.
For any rule to be effective you need to know when each individual player went on to a list (there were some before the draft, some after). In addition, none of them appear in Stats, so you cannot upload to your teams at this stage.
Think we follow Hornsy's ruling quoted by port in the post immediately above. That would mean @thokash needs to pick again and Hayes is off limits until the next mid or pre-season draft. However, if @stripey ,who is running the draft, disagrees then happy with that. The only problem with that is when will he be back on the site?
Just like that huge Russian column outside Kyiv, we are bogging ourselves down. The answer is no. Please pick again @Tylo
Now I'm confused, it looks like Hunter was allowed last year? Paddy McCartin has already been picked before this as well. Happy to accept the pick again, but may as well wait for @graeme to get back first anyway since he is next pick
The rule we followed last year was if they were on a list at the start of the draft they were free game. As Hornsy suggested it wasn’t fair if a player was added to a list midway through the draft and the guy with the next pick was able to snap him up.
Quote from AFL article 2 days ago: A total of six players have been signed under SSP rules this year, including Tex Wanganeen(Essendon), Nick Martin (Essendon), James Tsitas(Gold Coast), Jack Hayes (St Kilda), Paddy McCartin(Sydney) and Hugh Dixon (West Coast). EDIT: I believe Hayes and Dixon the only two who were not on lists prior to draft commencement making them ineligible in the PSD.
It's the when that i think is the issue, with Dixon and Hayes signed after. 30/01 McCartin 07/02 Tsitas 22/02 Essendon duo 02/03 Hayes 03/03 Dixon
Yeah understandable, may be worth adding to the rules thread because I certainly didn't really remember this scenario from last year. Or if the draft runner can remember to post it in the draft thread for the year, it was outlined in the ORFFF Draft for example exactly which SSP was eligible to avoid confusion. Wish we were picking instead of discussing though, bit of a slow weekend!
I know right, I was offline for 2 days (everything just came back about an hour ago) and fully expected at least one of my picks I gave Len would’ve been utilised!
