Someone just did it. They were very stupid and almost forgot the byes so best double check there's no errors. No idea why last year's ladder is not showing the Savages, that was confusing.
it looks to me that the original savages side has been deleted and a new one entered in its place with a new team Id, this means all matches including the savages have been lost from the round display for previous years and they do not show up in previous years ladders. apparently team deletion can be reversed if you want that information reinstated but best you check with @walesy
Hey everyone. Coming up to the Top Up draft and with shortened pick limits and likely prospect of auto-picking I've worked out a list of every team's players at each position so we can autopick based on needs if/when necessary. Using Len's sheets it looks like this at moment: The new columns I've added are the 4 on the right. For autopicks we wont be using rucks, just there for completion sake. Highest average player to each team as per usual rule. To give an example and hopefully explain: COU is first in the Top Up draft, if autopicking they would get a FWD first, then whoever is highest on ave out of next three positions. WAR would get a DEF first, then highest out of DEF/FWD As we get into the smaller averages, likely to need tiebreakers on the scoring, in which case just lookup who's highest here: https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/supercoach_season This should be what we'll use if we have to automate the whole process, and should be simple enough that anyone can work out who goes where. Thanks to Len and his masterful excel spreadsheet for making this incredibly easy, thought I was going to have to go through it all individually. I've given him the data, so it should all be accessible by anyone from the spreadsheet on the first post. Any questions/errors, let me know.
Is it feasible to add a condition that top ups are excluded from teams in round one unless the top up draft is complete?
I think we will have plenty of time but also would be happy to a make a call that the second round is all autopicked if we haven’t got there by a certain time - say Sunday 6pm or something like that
Good spot, that's a me error with SDK not being listed a Quoll on my sheet I was working out the code with (I was testing/playing with BUN and QUE players). It should only be on my sheet, not anything Len applies to his list. Hoping we can do as much picking manually as possible. I'm not really sure how much we'll get through with a 4hr time limit but hoping its no more than 4 days, which is a Sunday start at latest, so as G says, maybe we just don't include these players in Rd1 if we're still struggling on.
This system above looks good to me with a 4 hour limit before an auto pick is placed, my numbers are different to the sheet and are 13 x D / 9 x M / 9 x F / 2 x R. I still have one live pick available before the top up draft. I've got 6 x dual position D/F on my list. I'm hoping to be ready for my top up picks unless it happens at 4 in the morning. I would be keen on suspending live picks between midnight and 6am AEST. This has probably been considered before but could the draft be scheduled by the clock e.g. choose a time zone and set a go time eg 8am AEST = pick 1, 10am AEST = pick 2, 12noon = pick 3 etc. etc. , If you know your pick number it should be easy enough to know when your due to log on or to set a reminder and make your selection. This would mean 9 picks a day with 6 hours off overnight ( a total 10 day draft for 90 picks). So far we have been at this for 17 days, its my first draft so apologies if its been tried and failed, might drag it out if everyone was go go go but seems its the opposite here with people all over the world and different time zones an obvious hurdle.
We generally go on Eastern States time even as that's where most people are though we have coaches all over the world. I think the idea is having a gap during the off-peak times otherwise its going to be too unfair at certain points. You may want to check your team again @PhilArthur . It's on the spreadsheet and TS as:
just copied the way its displayed on my screen and I'm a bit confused about the FW / D but on reflection I can see that Fisher, Hawkins, tippa, McHenery, McLean, Naughton and Perkins are not a Defensive players, this has thrown me a bit as I didn't go that deep on my original analysis ha ha , oh well not the end of the world I guess.
By my quick check, it appears we have 10 selections left before the top up draft starts with me. 2 of those picks are the Chief's, so I reckon there is very little chance of me being required to kick of the top up draft until tomorrow at the earliest - I've got alot of shizzle to do and no time to hang around waiting (weeds at my place are growing at a much faster pace than this draft). If it gets to me before tomorrow there are a couple of crew here with my number who can shoot a text through to alert me. Other than that, see you all at the top up kick off.
Forgot to discuss before but now is probably as good a time as any, I heard that SC will be updating (adding, not removing) player positions during the season this year like AF and DT do. Are we going to update positions in ORFFL at the same time? I vote yes.
