In slightly related news, the first nine rounds of the venerable ORFFA fixture - with poorly written round themes and other stuff - is prepared and will be posted to this very forum in the coming couple of days.
Very well done. Despite being slow out of the blocks and a bit of confusion along the way, it still looks like ORRFA will finish the draft before ORFFL. One thing we need to consider is (a) what to do with selected players who were on an AFL list prior to the draft commencing and who do not appear in Stats and (b) does it matter that all the off-season transfers are still listed in Stats as being at their original club.
So far, we have averaged roughly 10 picks per day in this draft. We have 47 picks to go, which might take ~4 days at current pace. Hence, we should be finished by the end of the weekend. No need to panic.
If any comment warrants a right, royal get stuffed reply that's it TiB. PS - love the flowers, very sunny
with a) I think that it is reasonable to consider them included. After all, each and every coach has the option of recruiting them again, without anyone being deprived of the opportunity as they were contracted to an AFL club mid draft…what say the masses? Happy to go either way with b) wasn’t even aware that was an issue
As has been mentioned previously the SSP player deadline was yesterday and the final picks were only added into SC today, as such it is expected that all players added into SC since the initial annual rollover will be added into TSleagues and Stats between now and round 1 commencing. At the same time it is hoped that the 20 cloned players will be merged into 1. Lastly I think the first attempt at fixing duplicated players who had changed clubs was partly successful albeit they were showing the correct club in stats but the wrong one in TSleagues. I attempted to fix this last night and it looks ok now and if this is the case there shouldn’t be any round 1 issues. If not then their lockout could be affected but hopefully this would also get fixed in the lending update. Look for further advice in the “SC is open for 2022” thread on the main page
I'll post this here too for those not keeping an eye on the other thread. This trade involves the next draft pick. Im not sure whether to proceed with the draft or not. Probably should wait until the trade is confirmed. I dont even remember what the process is for confirming trades in drafts. I think @Bandit just gave the all-clear to proceed earlier in this draft, whereas I think we waited for a certain amount of other coaches to approve it before we proceeded in previous drafts. I think at the very least we should wait for @churchboy to approve it. He approved privately of course and knew that I would announce it, but may have forgotten he needs to approve publicly too... and has probably gone to sleep by now
Unless I am mistaken somewhere, I think TiB was referring to something else than what you responded about. I think TTH's reply has answered TiB's question about the players not showing in stats yet. Re your question @Bandit about players who were signed to the AFL during our PSD and whether they should be available in the topup draft (do I have that right?). I think they should become eligible to be drafted in the MSD, which is in line with your previous announcement about Jack Hayes:
This trade has been confirmed by churchboy this morning, but I’ll wait for the all-clear from @Bandit before I proceed with the draft.
