Everyone make sure your squads have all 30 players, and remember to clear your team before selecting your round 1 lineup. Round 1 – AFL Round 1 Date: Wednesday 16th March THEME – Out with Old in with the New Round Like a giant slightly out-of-control straw broom sweeping a swathe through a layer of something-or-other, the ORFFA has undergone a wonderful patch of renewal, rebirth and resurrection in recent times. Our first round for the 2022 season bids a hearty welcome to its new coaches, while waving an appreciative farewell to former coaches who have helped make the league what it is today. Hi folks, A couple of reminders for the old folk, and pointers for the new 11. ROLLING LOCKOUTS 11.1 Other than applicable at 11.2 all Thursday game weeks will have a rolling lockout which becomes full lockout at the start of the Friday game 11.2 Easter weekend, ANZAC round and any other brain fart the AFL has that extends a weekend beyond the norm shall have lockouts applied per the Fixture Committee advice 12. LOOP-HOLING 12.1 During standard rounds with a rolling lockout due to Thursday games it is possible to enable a previously played emergency score 12.2 You must name a player in every slot on a line to activate an emergency, an empty slot will not activate an emergency, by design 12.3 It is not allowable to name a player not listed to play that week IF the coach has a player listed to play at the league lockout whom could have been named in that slot without leaving another playing slot empty instead. It is not required that coaches should have to play OOP to fill the slots, but if a full team of players listed to play AFL (including extended benches not finalised by lockout) can be named it must be done instead of utilising a non playing member for that week. 12.4 There may be a need to alter this approach by instance (round) for rounds listed at 11.2 Please make every effort to list your team in the weekly round thread... this serves as an important backup if something is to happen and you can't get your team loaded or we have team loading issues. Welcome to Round 1
Some people (including me) need to get their teams updated Josh Caddy needs to work out what team he is playing in as well
Lefties will look something like this. Def - Hardwick, Perryman, Markov, Sinn (McPherson) Mid - Berry, Anderson, Worpel, Simpkin (MacDonald) Ruck - Ladhams (Hayes) Fwd - Brodie, Thomas, SPP, Cockatoo (Xerri) IC - Schoenberg, Byrnes Georgiades might make his way in if he can shake his ts doppelganger.
Now this is a work in progress, I have no one in tonight's game but I need to see the teams for the rest of the week to get an idea of what my team will be So for now this is the Lilacs that are set to take the field, now no Stewart, Duncan or Ryan and I still have a team with, emergency's, never would have happened a few years ago DEF - Rampe, Moore, Jonas, Tarrant (EMG - Gibcus) MID - Amon, Parish, Bolton, Lipinski (EMG - Collier-Dawkins) RUC - Hickey FWD - Wright, Larkey, Heeney, McLean (EMG - Flanders) INT - Pickett, Stengle (EMG - Bianco)
A quick question - I have a COVID affected gent on my list from out west - do I need to formally call up a replacement or nominate someone? One of my COVID top up types will be playing this evening and I want to put him in as an emergency in case my other players don't get a game (but I name them due to rolling lockouts and all manner of other fun and games) Current provisional type team for the Nuffers is: DEF: Edwards, Campbell, Redman, Richards (e: Keath) MID: Serong, Clark, Warner, Rowell (still have two of them, both named as well) (e: Ross) RUCK: Soldo FWD: Gulden, Cameron, McGovern, Coleman-Jones (e: Vandermeer if he is allowed as a COVID replacement) I/C: Horne-Francis, Duursma (e: Petruccele)
Zero assistance for covid mate other than the extra 2 players we drafted, so if you can cover it in your own squad great, if not, shit happens Edit, just reread, if you drafted him you can play him, no cocking around required
Warriors squad for Round 1: DEF: B. MacKay, J. Noble, H. Andrews, J. McInerney (C. Idun) MID: I. Smith, J. Harmes, O. Wines, T. Boak (Q. Narkle) RUC: J. Witts FWD: C. Nash, C. Dixon, J. Cameron, B. Ainsworth (C. Durdin) I/C: L. Jones, K. Macintosh (JJ Kennedy)
Cradle Mountain Devils Provisional Round 1 team: Changes from 2021 Grand Final team Out: T Lynch (retired), C Mayne (retired), N Vlastuin (hamstring), Z Jones (personal), T Duryea (omitted), H Cunningham (omitted) In: S Pendlebury, T Nankervis, J Redden, J Gresham, A Naughton, J Bowey (club debut) Def: D Rich, D Heppell, J Lever, J Bowey (H Cunningham) Mid: J Steele, J Hopper, S Pendlebury, D Zorko (H Morrison) Ruc: T Nankervis Fwd: T English, T Membrey, A Naughton, J Gresham (L Breust) Int: R Marshall, J Redden (B Brown) Nine members of the Cradle Mountain team that won the 2021 ORFFA Grand Final have been named to take to the field in the Round 1 away game against Lovely Bank Lilacs. The six players out of the team all remain at CMD albeit retired duo Tom Lynch and Chris Mayne are in assistant coaching/off-field roles. Defender Nick Vlastuin is out with a hamstring injury and Zak Jones misses for personal reasons. Defenders Taylor Duryea and Harry Cunningham have both been omitted with the latter named the defender emergency. Four Devils that were injured or ill at the end of 2021 return to the side - midfielders Scott Pendlebury and Jack Redden, ruck Toby Nankervis and forward/midfielder Jade Gresham. Forward Aaron Naughton has been recalled to the side and defender Jake Bowey who was recruited with pick 38 in this year’s PSD make his club debut for the Devils, having been at fellow Tasmanian team the Wineglass Bay Packers last season. Inaugural Cradle Mountain captain Scott Pendlebury continues in the role for the 11th consecutive season, 2020 and 2021 CMD best and fairest winner Jack Steele is the Devils vice-captain.
Had a longer than planned social afternoon at golf. There were two holes in one, so a lot of free fluid floating. Tentative line up against the Knobs is: D - J McGovern, N Newman, B Williams, R Burton (N Answerth) M - N Fyfe, T Mitchell, B Crouch, D Prestia (N Cox) R - R O'Brien F - J Dunkley, Z Bailey, J Finlayson, T Sparrow (B Close) I - B Parfitt, R Bonner (L O'Brien) Look forward to seeing @churchboy 's team. Good luck.
Late change for the Devils, Jake Lever is out with a foot injury. Harry Cunningham has moved from defender emergency into the 15 man team as a starting defender and Jayden Laverde has come into the squad as a defender emergency.
So now that Richmond have announced their team I have had to make a few changes and also now Geelong have confirm Stewart is playing I have added him back into my team. This should now be my line up for the week, unless when the rest of the teams come out tonight there is a major change for me Bold and red are playing tonight DEF - Rampe, Moore, Jonas, Stewart (EMG - Tarrant) MID - Amon, Parish, Bolton, Lipinski (EMG - O'Driscoll) RUC - Hickey FWD - Wright, Larkey, Heeney, McLean (EMG - Flanders) INT - Pickett, Stengle (EMG - Bianco)
I really want to get Jack Ross into my team but am struggling to figure out how given I have no M/F players. I probably should just be happy I have a full team even without 3 or so players due to injury. That's a good start. I guess I'll wait and see who is picked to play when teams come out.
Indeed, we are getting there, although some of the more recent signings are yet to feature (I, for example, am waiting on James Tsitas).
