    The Barracuda's are on 1,273/13 97.9 to the Armadillos @insider 1,242/13 95.5

Absolute cracker jack game at the paddock, high scoring, tight match. The locals have Lloyd & Gulden to come to the visitors Rowbum & Blakey.

It’s full time at the Dome and despite some individual heroics from the home team in typical Anzac Day spirit they have fallen short by 3 points. Final scores:

    KB 1336 to HPD 1333

Final score from Huskies Vs Buffalos.
An easy win for the Buffalos following good scores across the board from Bombers players and the Huskies playing two short in defence.

    Huskies: 1090/13 (84)
    Buffalos: 1352/15 (90)

    ANZAC Day Match
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them."

What a block buster match, there’s nothing like the history for the ANZAC’s and between these two teams, giants in the ORRFU. This match had everything, it was fast, it was hard and it was bloody.

From the centre the big boys Stanley verses Gawn the Bearded One went at it all day long feeding their midfielders. It was an on fire Corn Boy Cripps with 3 goals, Guthrie with 28 possessions, tackle machine Smith and a slow starting Bont up against the gun Brayshaw, young Rowell with 24 touches, even younger McDonald who rotated in defence and Rowbum who lagged behind and threw away a couple of frees.

Out of the strong hold of defence the visitors young Perryman had 18 touches, Ziebell was quite rotating each bookends, Stewart was busy all day and Ryan lead the way with 23 disposals. For the locals Tuohy did the heavy lifting this week with 32 disposals, Weit was zig zagged off the 50 meter arc, Lloyd was quite and the magnificent Zorko in a new role was still getting use to the structure.

Off the bench the home side had Cripps of the Jamie variety booting the first goal of the match and Jarrod flavoured Berry who found plenty of space. For the opposition they had Blakey who started off the wing and Duckworth claiming umpire dissent from the water boy.
A star studded forward line for each side, Rozee the running machine got leather poisoning and Treloar coming from the wing for the Ararat boys and the Cuda’s had AstroNaught deep forward with 2 goals, Graham off the half forward, Errol claimed 1 and Tomahawk bagged 4.

It was a tussle for the ages, quarter time the visitors were up by a kick, the locals clawed it back and stuck their nose in front at half time and kept it there for three quarter time and then to finish it off.

    BOG – C Rozee (AA), P Cripps (GEB) & Z Tuohy (GEB)

Korumburra Blowflys 1,369 def Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,333

In an epic Anzac Day clash the Blowflys held on for a narrow win with JPK’s last minute appearance making the difference.

It was a heroic effort by the home team who started the game without a ruck (again) with ruck substitute Jordon (33) doing his best against his much bigger opponent but Xerri (68) had his measure all day.

Around the ground Preuss (117) finally rewarded the Blowfly fans with an exceptional performance against the shorter Battle (100) who tried hard but again was no match in height or muscle to the bigger Preuss.

The Blowflys held the lead all game and after a knocked out Yeo (26) was forced out of the game early in the 2nd quarter from an accidental clash of bodies, it appeared game over for the home team. But in true Anzac spirit the P Dogs refused to rollover with Ward (123), Oliver (168) and Mills (214) excelling with more possessions than the statistician could count (were there more, was there an error? )doing their best to lift the team, but sadly it wasn’t enough. The Blowflys had winners across all lines, Vlastuin (155) and Howe (104) rebounding out of the backline, Steele (140) and Boak (118) controlling the midfield early and a rampaging Dunkley (142) in the forward line it was always going to be tough for Hughenden to get the 4 points.

It was the appearance of JPK (where the f*&K did he come from) who pulled the visitors over the line and left the Hughenden crowd with a collective groan of disappointment as their team lost yet another close contest.

There was plenty to like about the Hughenden team but with only 1 win for the season, thoughts are already turning to 2023 while Korumburra are sitting 4th on the table with finals footy looking more and more likely if they can maintain this form.

    Big Tap
    Xerri (68) over Jordon (33)

    BAFFU Awards
    3 Mills HPD (214)
    2 Oliver HPD (168)
    1 Vlastuin KB (155)

Blanchetown Bunyips 1358 def Cow Bay Crocs 1113

The Bunyips have finally found a home ground advantage and are starting to rack up the wins in 2022. Unfortunately for the the Crocs, most of the Bunyips outscored their averages and dominated across all lines except up forward where Silvagni was a late out and no substitute available.

Alex Witherden from the visitors continued to see plenty of the ball down back and top scored with a massive 152. ROB dominated in the middle against Williams and continues his push for a 2022 Big Tap award.

It's been a long time since we have scored so well, the boys are up and about and looking forward to this week against the Barcrawlers whilst @fresh is on the road again against the Bulls.

    BOG - Witherden - 3
    O'Brien - 2
    Keays - 1

    Big Tap - O'Brien

Round 5 - Southern Cross Sandgropers 986/14/70 defeated by King Island Monarchs 1118/15/75

Full time at the Sandpit and @Tylo 's visiting Monarchs have beaten the Sandgropers by 132 points.

Neale (117), Laird (120) and Prestia (104) did all they could to reduce the embarrassment of a 4th loss from 5 games, however their resistance was futile as the Monarchs, even with an OOP ruck, ran away with the match, off the back of MacRae (153) Green (115) and Cotchin (121).

There really were few other highlights for what was a bottom of the table clash.

    Capture.PNG

Round 6 sees the Monarchs travel to Eden to take on the Whalers and Southern Cross remain at home for the visit of powerhouse local Rivals Nuytsland.

Round 6 - Southern Cross Sandgropers 1229/15/82 defeated Nuytsland Vikings 1220/15/81

Full time at the Sandpit and in what looms as the upset of the season, @bryzza 's visiting ladder leaders , the Vikings, have gone down to the 17th placed Sandgropers, by 9 points.

Big scores from Neale (108), Laird (123), Prestia (105), Docherty (122), Rich (106) and Grundy (129) were enough to get the side over the line in what was a tight tussle from the 1st bounce.

Nuytsland responded with some big scores of their own, Liberatore (137), Mitchell (105), Shuey (102) and Warner (113), however too much was left to too few, with many players down on their STD averages.

In the end, it was a herculean effort from Grundy, that got the home side the win. On one knee, he sealed the win for Southern Cross, with little over 4 minutes remaining in the match.

    Capture.PNG

The down side from the win is that Grundy will now miss the rest of the ORFFU season, leaving his team desperately undermanned.

In better news from the medical team, Martin, Lambert, Bowes and Fyfe are stepping up their training loads, in an effort to get some match time over the next month.

Round 7 sees the Sandgropers head to Pearcedale to take on @ron swanson 's Panthers, whilst the Vikings return home for the visit of @HOLKY 's Whalers.

Final result from the Horsham V Serengeti match with the Buffalos taking an easy 262 point win (1352 vs 1090). Heading into the last quarter of the game, the Huskies held a very narrow lead (average 85 to 84), but the Buffalos Bombers players were excellent and the Huskies were playing short, missing their 2021 MSD trio of Jiath, Reeves and Henry.

Serengeti were well lead by Parish (133), Cameron (131), Merrett (123) and Saad (107). Supporting performances from May (99), J. Kelly (93) and Draper (93) got Serengeti to an excellent score.

Horsham's top performers were Witts (143), Bailey (135) and Drew (121).

Serengeti remain undefeated at the top of the ladder. Horsham's young side are now 2-4 and sitting 13th.

Progress score from The Stadium....Banchang v Blanchetown.
That is actually a misnomer, as there was no progress what so ever, due to a large, severe electrical storm that hit Banchang just prior to the first bounce, with both teams refusing to emerge from the safety of their respective dressing rooms.
Officials have decided the game will go ahead at 11.10am (local time) tomorrow.

1/9th of the way through the game in the Goldfields @YAD69 and the only good thing to come out of the absolute flogging I've just experienced first hand, was seeing some good SC scores for my players.
Some of the Coolgardie locals have even been heard asking for the game to be stopped right now and the result called.

    upload_2022-4-29_23-8-4.png

I did see a couple of police officers working as stadium security as I was leaving the ground. Was going to ask them where I go to file a missing persons report, but was worried that they might not be the humorous type. If anyone on TS has seen a group of 23 men dressed in blue and gold, can they please send them to Eagles HQ, C/O AFL HQ. (Sorry, I'm an Eagles supporter, this is a very strange feeling for me!)

It's the Blowflys off to a fast start at home against the visting "Budgie" Smugglers. @DamoH

Greg Clark impressive for Korumburra, coming in hungry off the bench in his long awaited debut. Ex Blowfly Redden showing plenty of grunt against his old side. Vlastuin cleaning up down back as he continues the form that has him ranked as the highest averaging defender in the world right now!

At 6/9th time in the Goldfields, and the home side are still happily leading the visitors @YAD69

    upload_2022-4-30_21-28-59.png

The big question is: can the hapless Prospector forward line hold up their end of the bargain, or will the NT fishes find a way to swim past the locals and swipe the 4 points?

    Non-Progress score from The Stadium.......

and I say that because even though 19 players presented them selves on field after the horrific storm that passed over Banchang, not too many decided they needed to play to the manner to which we've become accustomed.
Of course there's exceptions to every rule, and 2 midfielders from the visiting Bunyips, Walsh 129 and Keays 103, both played with heart and passion, and did their supporters proud.
On the home front, only Robbie (am I playing or aren't I ) Gray, stood up with 100, while Farrell, 2 games back from a knee reco, graced us with 81.
Updated scores shows Blanchetown leading Banchang 10/797 to 9/680

Coming up to 3/4 time it’s looking like the Buffaloes will finish the stronger but plenty of game time still remaining
