Will get something up tomorrow about round 1 folks... it's budget week at work so am absolutely smashed
Here we go folks, Round 1 done and dusted The Others out of the blocks with a 1209/12, Witherden, Neal, Dunkley and Bailey Smith needing to show signs, Libba and Will Brodie going over their averages by a decent whack. The Vic/Tas team went BANG! posting 1069/6, Max Gawn tearing Wittsy a new sphincter, and Luke Parker being an inspired selection as well. Hell even @chris88 was going off at Errol! He would give everything, just to be like him. Tom Stewart was shit @Jen , trust you are having a word. If we look at the best ofs... here are the potential scores that could have been posted The Others could have posted a 1768, and had 6 right Vic/Tas could have posted a massive 1973, but only got 4 correct selections so far More to come this week!
Update after round 2... and it is getting very close, only 25 points in it Lachie Neale responded to his critics, and The Others had a good weekend generally. Bailey Smith it seems had a massive weekend, getting stuck into the blow at the Tiki Bar with Chelsea On the Vic/Tas side, Sam Docherty went mental, but Darcy Parish let @Jen down like his Lilacs team mate Tom Stewart. Sam Walsh will have @HeavyMen calling him shortly no doubt asking for a lift! If we look at the best of's... The Others will crack 2k next week, with some little known names stealing the show Vic/Tas going to a massive number... on the back of some huge one off performances from the likes of Cogs
Wowee what a finish! Coming in to the third and final week of the State of Origin carnival, The Others were trailling the Vic/Tas team by 25 points, but had plenty of ammo in the tank with sub par performances from Witherden and Josh Dunkley to be atoned for (and Bailey Smith, but he was off getting some mentoring insight with Jordan DeGoey me thinks). Witherden was a non-event, but Dunks came through with a respectable 114, and Jordan Dawson (140) and Jack McCrae (155) took the fight right up to Vic/Tas, leading to the Others posting a very respectable 1780 points, 70 points over their season averages Heroes: Dawson, McCrae, Brodie, Libba Villans: Witherden, Bailey Smith Vic/Tas however responded with some lift of their own. Tom Stewart obviously reacting to the hair dryer treament from @Jen and Sam Walsh giving @HeavyMen something to sink some beers over. Darcy Parish couldn't be stuffed turning up and Touk Miller was a bit so so, but the Vic/Tas team ended up taking the biscuits by 45 points with 1825 (late edit, see below), 159 points over their season averages Heroes: Docherty, Gawn, Parker, Gulden Villans: Stewart, Parish So Vic/Tas steal one... in the best ofs, the gap was even closer, Vic/Tas posting 2049 (only getting 5 selections correct) versus the Others 2044, but they got 7 of their selections correct Thus ends another SOO carnival. Hope you enjoyed the distraction
go team Vic Tas! Well done to all. Thanks Bandit for facilitating and everything Thankfully the extra 14 points Crisp would have gotten us instead of Short didnt cost us!
Thanks @Bandit . And apologies to my fellow 'Others' coaches. The Battlers participants were particularly shit in a close encounter.
Am always conflicted with this tourney (being from Vic and all) but a big boooooooo is needed. Five bloody points? Ugh !! Hopper reps stood tall, the rest of you ‘others’ need to take a hard look at yourselves me thinks
Just having a look now, they really were significantly bad compared to all the other players. Pity Luke Ryan didn’t make the cut. Was a similar story with @Jen players for VicTas! Both performed poorly, but did enough to help the team win
Good get @anthak , not it would be nice, it actually makes the current team invalid I’ll correct this morning
Hmmm, seems there was an error in my maths... Vic/Tas smashed The Others in the best of's.... after fixing my team selection error to add a Lovely Banks player in... I noticed my sums weren't right. Just goes to show you should pay attention to those little green triangles in the top left of your cell in your spreadsheet Vic/Tas with a massive 2177....
Bandit, I’ve just noticed also that Touk Miller is showing the wrong score for round 12, where he scored 167. You have it correct in the ‘best of’ team, but not in the actual team. Looks like we won by more than first thought
