Thanks Bandit. I think Mount Beauty were clearly going to be stuck with Cradle Mountain, however the other three teams are all very even and were difficult to rank. It will be interesting to see the final scores
Correct @anthak - @bama got no favours for pushing the cows back from fourth to fifth. And we moved one place up the draft ladder. That's how to tank @Bandit ; and BTW. get stuffed.
Why does C Scott and Geelong have to be so precious about their team 24 hours out from a game? Maybe our recent poll should had an exception for GFC players before the first bounce on Saturday?
Cradle Mountain Devils Finals week 1 Out: J Lever (Omitted) In: D Rich Def: N Vlastuin, D Rich, D Heppell, J Laverde (J Lever) Mid: J Steele, S Pendlebury, J Redden, J Hopper (T Sonsie) Ruc: T English Fwd: R Marshall, A Naughton, H Morrison, T Membrey (J Gunston) Int: T Nankervis, D Zorko (L Breust) After recovering from a concussion defender Daniel Rich has been recalled for the Devils quarter final against Mount Beauty. Another defender, Jake Lever has been omitted. The Devils and Uglies meet in the first week of the finals for the second year in a row, however the roles have been reversed. In 2021 the fourth placed Devils at home went ballistic, scoring a club record 1,581 points to win by 295 points against the sixth placed Uglies. In 2022 it is @bama ’s Mount Beauty outfit that has the benefit of passionate home crowd support led by number 1 Uglies fan @HeavyMen, whilst the Devils finished sixth and are on the road. In the last three encounters between Mount Beauty and Cradle Mountain the Uglies have been consistent, scoring between 1,295 and 1,365 in all three games. For the Devils it has been the complete opposite and a case of feast or famine, registering their lowest score of 2021 with 1,153 during a 200 point loss in Round 2. In Round 12, 2022 CMD scored 1,532 to register their highest score of the season and surpassed Mount Beauty’s tally of 1,363. In their last three games against Mount Beauty, the Devils have registered their lowest score of 2021, highest score of 2021 and highest score of 2022. The Uglies will be hoping the Devils complete the set and produce their lowest score of 2022 whilst the CMD match committee have instructed their team to play attacking footy and aim to register another high score.
Agreed, the guy is a jerk. Has already come out and said his 22 will change, but they “had to name something” by Thursday.

@bama ’s Mount Beauty have started their quarter final in blistering fashion with their first six players to take the field amassing the Devil’s number + one, an extremely impressive 667 points at an average of 111.2 per player to make a massive statement against reigning premiers, Cradle Mountain Devils. Four Uglies have reached triple figures – ruck Max Gawn (136), midfielders Christian Petracca (136) and Jack Viney (110) along with forward Steele Sidebottom (104). The Uglies highest score of the home and away season was 1,417 in Round 9 against Apple Isle team Charlies Opening. In front of a capacity crowd against another Tasmanian team in the Devils, Mount Beauty are on track to set their season-highs for both points scored in a game and beer consumed by the fans with @HeavyMen leading the charge in the latter category. CMD skipper Scott Pendlebury scored 85 and is the only Cradle Mountain player to take the field. Today 11 Devils are in action and this group of players will need to play exceptional football for CMD to be in a position to challenge the Uglies on Sunday. Mount Beauty Uglies 667/6 Average of 111.2 lead Cradle Mountain Devils 85/1
Injuries too much to overcome; some guys who are going to be de-listed versus A-graders is an uneven contest. So, well done @Fitzy . I enjoyed watching Freddy kick three for Freo.
The scoreboard is certainly beautiful reading for Mount Beauty supporters and ugly viewing for Devils fans mid-way through the fourth quarter. Progress scores Mount Beauty Uglies 1389/14 Average of 99.2 lead Cradle Mountain Devils 970/12 Average of 80.8 On Saturday 3 Uglies reached triple figures - Trent Cotchin (126), Zac Butters (121) and Daniel Rioli (108). The sole Tasmanian in the Devils team Toby Nankervis was superb and is provisionally best afield with his 158, however none of his 11 teammates to take the field so far have been able to reach the ton. Ruck/forward Rowan Marshall (97) and Jack Steele (93) were the next best for CMD. With the Uglies highest ranked player for the season, Sam Walsh still to take the field seven Mount Beauty players have registered tons and another five players have scored 75+ in a phenomenal performance, enabling the Uglies to advance to the semi finals in emphatic fashion. Congratulations on Mount Beauty’s convincing victory @bama and @HeavyMen, good luck for the rest of the finals.
We’ve got a very tight game at Gariwerd, early in the 3rd quarter. Gariwerd Cockatoos 844/10/84.4 Wagga Wagga Wombats 601/7/85.9 Could easily still go either way. There’s been an incident too, with Matt Taberner attempting to take the field due to Wagga Wagga playing one short, but the umpires won’t let him due to the ORFFA rules, citing rule 1.5 that says an emergency can only take the field if a selected player doesn’t play.
It’s 3 quarter time at Gariwerd. The home team holds a small 62 point lead, however Rory Laird is going to make it difficult for the visitors to catch up. Gariwerd Cockatoos 949/11/86.3 Wagga Wagga Wombats 887/11/80.6 Gariwerd have Hurn, Laird, Tex Walker & Darling to play. Wagga Wagga are relying on Barrass, Jamie Cripps & Brodie Smith
The cows score around 1200, could have been higher without #lateoutsgeelong. However, that is irrelevant as @Fitzy would have won even if we had had an optimised team afield. Well done to the Vultures.
Full time in Gariwerd and the home team have come out victorious! Gariwerd Cockatoos 1330/15/88.7 Wagga Wagga Wombats 1109/14/79.2 Well done on your season @Lenny120 ! It was a remarkable turnaround to make the finals after starting so slowly. Early in the season it looked like you would be in the running for the #1 draft pick, but you flicked the switch and completely turned your season around. Even though I ended up winning by >200, I was very worried through the weekend. We had so many players playing in the final game of the round, and I really felt it could’ve went either way up until then, but I probably should’ve had more confidence in Laird to get me over the line the way he’s been going
