Gariwerd Cockatoos At home vs Wagga Wagga, where we are unveiling our Premiership flag! 12 of our named 15 played in the winning grand final team last year. Robbie Gray has retired, but will be at the game for the formalities, along with the injured Seb Ross, however Aidan Corr can’t make it and is extremely disappointed to not be selected for round 1 after his near best-on-ground performance in the Grand Final! Coming into the side to replace these three, are Jack Darling, Chad Wingard & Changkuoth Jiath. Both Wingard & Jiath were injured at the time of the Grand Final last year, but Darling gets another chance after being a healthy omission from the grand final team. Our emergencies for round 1 are Sam Durham, Andrew Phillips, Esava Ratugolea, and first year draftee Fergus Greene. Both of Durham and Ratugolea were emergencies in the grand final team too. We have been really impressed by their attitude to being on the fringe and we think they’ll be ready if given their chance at some stage.
